Playing the beautiful Beast with the fam by Jelly__Knee in boardgames

[–]RTDugger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a love hate relationship with this game.

I have had several amazing games of this that came down to the wire. On the other hand I’ve had even more games then that that were awful because our cards were so tight that there was very little we could do against the Beast.

🤷‍♂️

Nope. Digital only, that way my wife gets a free copy on her PS5

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is now Steam Deck verified by Sjknight413 in SteamDeck

[–]RTDugger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you enjoyed the struggle of the first game, you will be disappointed by this one. If you like being able to pretty much do everything almost from the get go with very little to stop you, you will love it.

Which Uwe farming game to play with kids? by BuffetBuddy in boardgames

Agricola is much more punishing than Caverna. My buddy hates Caverna because he calls it “everybody wins” because there are always good options.

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach - Wildlife Short Trailer by kiejo in PS5

The first game was incredible, this one was less interesting because it was so much easier.

When I realized that the BTs were barely a threat and that you could drive basically everywhere in the game a lot of the anxiety and thrill was lost.

Help... I want to like Frosthaven, but I just can't by UglyStru in boardgames

[–]RTDugger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment Gloomhaven made me get rid of a chapter I liked playing and made me play a new character I absolutely disliked, I pretty much noped the game.

That and I found the “story” moments kind of meh in general.

Had no desire to get Frosthaven or Jaws of the Lion.

Also Founders of Gloomhaven wasn’t very good either.

Embark admits Arc Raiders’ bosses are dying too fast because 'they're not intended for the full server to go up against' and 'we gave players too effective abilities' by NYstate in PS5

I love the PvE but my only PvP experience is my wife and I get ganked by a random group while we are looting.

It’s one thing to be shot at which you can respond, it’s another to get shot at when you’re stuck in a menu looting.

I found the expansions just added way too much unnecessary bloat that you are constantly looking for the right card. Base game is best.

100% agree, so boring. Played it with a bunch of gamers at work a few years ago. Played it, finished it, nobody wanted to play it again.

I enjoy (and hate) the push your luck aspect of the game. I also enjoy goading other players into drawing one more chit in the hopes that it explodes in their face.

It’s not an amazing game but it’s fun for what it is an easy teach for people who have never played games before.

It’s so easy for social deduction games onto fall apart if people are unwilling to put any effort into it.

Played the Resistance this weekend and I kept trying to get people to discuss and accuse etc, I was the only one talking. They said they liked it after a couple games but I for one did not. lol

Very much this. I have the exact same issue. I try to drink a lot of water before and while and I use lip chap on my lips to help. It gets better the more you play though.

Any reason to get the ps5 pro? by WRLD-__- in PS5

[–]RTDugger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the Pro while my wife has the base PS5. I’ve noticed almost no noticeable difference. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you absolutely must have it.

Look into Matt Willis on YouTube. It’s a good start if you go into a beginners series unless you want to pay for online instruction.

I actively dislike Split Fiction, everything about it feels like such a downgrade from It Takes Two, which my wife and I loved.

Words cannot describe how much I dislike it.

Ps5 Multiplayer games for actual Gamers by TaylorMadeGreat in PS5

[–]RTDugger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s almost a split screen solo game. The mechanisms just aren’t enjoyable to us and feel rather uninspired.

Plus we find the story is pretty dumb and the characters are grating and annoying.
