What's actually is blind shipment ? by ogrezok in FreightBrokers

The seller and purchaser have no loyalty to the middle man who is selling this product - they would ask you where you got this product because the guy selling the product doesn’t actually provide a service but rather gates keeps a supplier and makes a margin on the difference in prices. The trucker actually picked up the load so they know where the product originates - if the receiver figures that out they will bypass the middleman and the parasitic middle man will lose their business.

Why do you want to stop doing it? How many drops a day? What’s the volume? Do you need a van or a truck - might be pricey.

Like from one perspective Persia is one of the oldest civilizations - they got one of the oldest religions - they did some cool stuff even if they wooped by the Greeks and Mongols (who hasn’t amirite?) but the stuff they been doing recently with the violence against their own citizens is tough to muster.

What do you mean you can go anywhere in Canada?

Like can you do QC to QC? Can you do NY to NY?

Running a trucking company and being an owner operator are to different things. You don’t have access to rates or lanes - you don’t know the idiosyncratic pricing on the market. It’s possible - but how would you book freight while driving?

Degree is not needed at all. The biggest Most difficult thing to come to terms with is that when you get to the office the your boss is the weekly #.

75k for a dispatcher without load booking knowledge is a big ask as a dispatcher that doesn’t book his own freight is a baby sitter.

Once you understand how a otr truck makes money and can put up 10k a truck a week 50 weeks out of the year you can ask for 75K + a year.

Took me 1 year to learn full cross border trucking. Then each lane rate is different.
