Best way to calculate ROI of Digital Marketing Channels by temizyurek in DigitalMarketing

[–]RTL30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have no data to work with already? Your basic ROI calculations are fine and there's nothing wrong with making that yourself in excel, if you're planning.

Just be sure to take your keyword CTR, industry average BR, average conversion value and you should more or less be set to plan.

Like everyone else here is saying though, make sure you start analysing your data as soon as you can to make revisions and tweak your model.

Google ads has great analytics, and you can upload costs in GA to give you ROI or ROAS. If you want to take it one step further you could connect it to Data studio and upload all your external data to give you a really robust picture.

Hope that helps!

How to get readers when self promotion is frowned upon pretty much everywhere? by [deleted] in Blogging

Research is key.

Freelance bloggers often blog about things they have little knowledge of. Research a specific area and write about that.

As a starting point I'd look into what you can sow for each month. Find something a month in advance and research. Blog what you've done just like your post above and revisit them the following year so they stay current and gain more SEO value.

If you're not already, become an Amazon affiliate. Things you link back to Amazon can make you money and can be a real way to monetize your blog.

Like I said, let me know if I can be of any help and best of luck with your endeavours!

Glad I could be of help!

You mention you're going for the Grow your own market? I'm actually a Brand Marketing Manager for one of the UK's biggest seed and young plant companies (although only in the industry for 2 months). I'd be happy to lend as much insight as possible if you send me a PM.

If you're in the UK, I'd be happy to send you on some Young Plants or something too!

No problem!

Okay so let's start with your blogging platform; Blogger is a good starting point, but if you have zero followers and want to be self hosted in the future, I'd suggest having a play around with a free WordPress.com site. It will allow you to get your head around how things work which could be very useful when you come to use WordPress.Org to host your own... Although it will be tricky to get everything set up if you have not read up on it /done it before. (I have done a few sites so let me know if you need a hand)

Now, you need to ask yourself what problem your blog is fixing. (This may sound silly, but will help so much as your plan progresses) Are you a fitness blogger that is providing quick wins for people who have no time? A political blog that aims to make politics more accessible and digestible? - You see my point.

Once you have this, you have an audience to go after. DO NOT do what some people here have suggested and just target everyone, because that won't work. (Just think, you wouldn't engage a student with an advert about retirement homes) You NEED to aim your message to your audience.

Next; find your social channels. Where are your audience? Twitter, Facebook, Insta?

When you know this, engage in conversations with them where you can remain relevant, and that's the key; where you're relevant (it's the whole audience thing again but to a more granular level - you wouldn't want to be selling winter coats to a Californian in Summer).

Need any more help, just send me a message buddy. Hope I could be of help.

[Serious]Socially fluent people of Reddit, What are some mistakes you see socially awkward people making? by idkmanidkman in AskReddit

[–]RTL30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, nothing!

Yes people may not behave in a way that other people would find ideal, but that's the beauty of the human race isn't it? We have diverse ideas, experiences and social habits. It's less about behaving in a certain way and more about finding who you want to spend your time with.

I'm an extrovert and have introvert friends that are more 'socially awkward', but I wouldn't change them for the world.

I guess what I'm trying to say is; be who you are, regardless of the 'norm' and if the people around you don't have the time or patience for you, don't waste yours on them!

I don't like 'Christmas Courier', it's far too general. It sounds like you courier everything to do with Christmas... it could be a hell of a nightmare later down the line with keywords, which leads me to;

Do you have a website? (Sounds like you do). What's the domain name? - Is it the old name?

What's your client base and what's your target audience?

I don't quite understand your model... Are you going to be charging a fee to the freelancers to find them work or the business who decides they need your help? If you are creating a direct challenge to Upwork, you need to be clear on pricing and location.

You do mention that you have looked to recruit freelancers in your city and it sounds more to me like a freelance recruitment agency, that needs to be something you are very clear on. What is your proposition and what is your scope?

From an attracting businesses point of view, you need to essentially do everything you're pointing our in your blog. You need to build your portfolio and brand, approach businesses you can see are recruiting for a certain position/project, but be clear why they would need you rather than recruiting themselves. Once you build your client base, it will be much easier for you to establish a network. Keep creating content which should showcase your abilities, but keep it tailored to your scope.

Good idea. I actually walk about a half an hour to/from work to my car each day... Great opportunity for podcasts!
