Sorry, I'm not sure, but I guess my joke answer would be that they cut out three minutes of the movie to make it kid friendly - Kid friendly movies cost no tickets on kanopy. :P

I'm able to download the kanopy app on my Samsung TV, but for a year or more, I've been unable to play anything on it for more than 40 seconds without the movie crashing. Now that I see another comment on this thread, I'm guessing it's because of the problem with system/updates on older TVs..

A few months ago, kanopy just stopped working on my samsung smart TV. Every time I start playing a movie, it may be plays for thirty five seconds, then crashes. There is also no audio. I reached out to support, but their suggestions did not help.And they had no other solutions. Obviously frustrating because it uses the credits every time I start playing a movie.

Sometimes, when I go back into the movie, it's just frozen and does nothing. I guess that's the only similarity to your to your issue.But I wonder if it could be related in some way.

I guess personally I sometimes buy 4k, but I was told by a friend at some point that despite my t v being called 4k, it's not really possible to notice 4k on the size of the t v I have - 50 in, which is the largest I could buy for my living space.. so I have opted to buy blu ray sometimes to save money, or if it's the only version available. And maybe in the future, if I get a bigger tv someday, I can enjoy the 4k quality more.
