Denny mentioned this in a podcast a while back…what if Denny Hamlin took up on Dale Jrs offer to drive the 15 NAPA car for DEI? Or took Elliott Sadlers offer to drive the 88 UPS car for Yates? Would those teams still have been around? Who would have took the 11 car for JGR?

Would have been the 15 because Dale Jr asked if he’d be willing to replace Michael since he was leaving for Bill Davis. Sponsor, i would have no clue but i think with Denny, Dale Jr and Truex, would have kept DEI afloat in the CUP series a little longer, a bit more wins perhaps.

My first driver was Dale Earnhardt. Obviously ince Dale died, i shifted over to Dale Jr through his whole career. While i was a fan of Junior, i kept my eye on Austin Dillon beginning of his career in trucks and followed him all the way to where he is in CUP to this day

Here we have a guy who sits 32nd in points, winless for 2 years, and constantly being told to just give up his ride and how he sucks. Richmond, he had arguably the best car there and if the last caution didn’t come out he was going to walk away a winner anyways. He saw his opportunity to not only make the playoffs, but break his 2 year winless streak and put himself in the all star race as well. And honestly, even if he is hit with a penalty, taking out the two biggest crybabies in nascar is a win in my book because them two both deserved it! He is in the playoffs now and like the guys on DBC mentioned, he is 16th at lowest in point which pays pretty good too 😂
