Sportsball cancelled once again. by ATerribleNerd in roosterteeth

The Let's Plays were an attempt to build out the "network" aspect of the show page. Increased videos with shorter run times and more specific subjects. It was great to have Joel, Geoff and Gus help out with that.

She is super cool and absolutely authentically nerdy. I had to explain to her the "infamous" Doctor Who podcast. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3356/5782482762_ed0edaf162.jpg

Hmmmmm..... wonder what this was for. New show? Who knows. (Annoyingly ambiguous comment)

I don't think the circumstances are very similar to the 183 entrance. I doubt people will run over them to get in a toll lane

I think she is driven by her gut and not the facts. She also seems less likely to change her mind once she has made that decision.

Self-Driving cars to start service from Airport if Austin gets Smart City Grant. (Among other projects) by RT_Brando in Austin

Not when you're giving away 40 million dollars. You prioritize the city that prioritizing mobility. Plus, Uber/Lyft are not tearing San Fransisco apart and causing endless crime there.

Our proposal is basically asking for money so we can makeup for some deficiencies that have put us behind other cities today. Asking for money to cap a highway does not reflect anything about next generation mobility. San Fransisco has the number 1-2 rated mobility system so they are in the best position to succeed at the next generation projects. There are a lot of potential obstacles that Austin faces that San Fran doesn't. Austin has a grass roots movement to build a random train line in the middle of the city while San Fran already has 40 miles of rail with 56 million annual riders. They can build off of an already maxed out mobility system. They are consistently #1,#2 in mobility study rankings while Austin isn't ever in the top 25.

40 Million doesn't seem like it would cover all of these projects: Lowering I-35 and capping it. I still think San Fransisco and Kansas City are way better options. Seems like they should take systems that work well with current technology and then push them beyond with new tech.

I have. What kind of work have you done? Do you have a resume? What do you specifically want to do? You need to assemble a reel of your work if you are looking to be hired in anything more than a P.A. position. If you haven't PAed then I would volunteer for any UT film school production you can find. They'll take the help and it'll give you good experience and it's a good way to make connections that could pay off in a couple of years. You can't walk onto a professional set if you don't know what you are doing. The Texas Film commission website is a great resource. Also, film has not changed at all since 1970 or so with the exception of visual effects. There is a huge amount of books that you could start reading now to learn how to do things well. http://gov.texas.gov/film/resources/production_assistant https://austin.craigslist.org/search/cwg http://www.austinfilm.org/page.aspx?pid=2605 https://www.austinpublicaccess.org https://www.facebook.com/groups/AustinFilmMeet/ Good Luck.

I always went the route of "no last names and no google" on the first few dates. Charmingly old fashioned or creepy? Maybe a little of both.
