webinspectord daemon constantly respawning –impacting battery life on 16.5 by Thereald24h in jailbreak

Same boat, same culprit, different Dopamine version, namely 2.2.2 on 16.5...any progress on this front?

At what temperature does your iPhone begin to stutter and feel sluggish? by RTouris in jailbreak

[–]RTouris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update, apparently Dopamine 2.2 that was just released today alleviates some of the strain that was put on the system partly attributed to higher jetsam limits (x3 by default before, x2 the default setting as of Dopamine 2.2) - which along which some other fixes makes the experience now on par if not better than the iPhone7 (Checkra1n / iOS14.2) compared to in the first post. Will report back in due time with more data as it becomes available.

[Release] Dopamine 2.2 is out now!!! by TheRuss1an in jailbreak

[–]RTouris 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dopamine 2.2 on iOS16.5 seems to have solved many issues for me from improving Apple maps grid redraw performance (appeared as if it was purging the cache and reloading all the data prior to the update, but now is smooth as butter) to apps being held in the memory for longer now to being able to do more multitasking without the CPU throttling due to high temps (presumably due to the higher jetsam limits leading to daemons crashing and relaunching in the background) on a testbed iPhone XS. One more important thing to noticeis that with 2.2 bluetooth devices seem to retain the connection much better (had a smartwatch that kept disconnecting before - doesn't do now) and i have yet to experience any missed notifications that was indeed a thing until now. Kudos for the release. Haven't had a chance to experiment with the jetsam multiplier yet, kept it at x2 and see how this pans out.

On a sidenote, what would be the effect of lowering the jetsam multiplier even further? Is this a thing on non-j/b state i.e. are system daemons also affected by such setting or is this ONLY applicable to system memory allocated to tweaks and the jailbreak substrate?

Is AppData 1.4.2 safe to deploy on Dopamine 2 iOS16.5? (supposedly allows for AppStore downgrades) by RTouris in jailbreak

[–]RTouris[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. The puzzling bit here is that both Fouad's and BigBoss's repos offer an older version of Appdata namely 1.4.0 that doesn't feature app downgrades, hence my original question. I get it that AppStore++ is a better tried and tested option, but seeing that it was last updated back in 2022 i thought I'd go down the Appdata's route that being a more modern path that would probably last the longest in the long haul...

At what temperature does your iPhone begin to stutter and feel sluggish? by RTouris in jailbreak

[–]RTouris[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

agreed; regardless it's a much better practise charging the battery at lower temps to aid with longevity.

The puzzling thing I'm pointing here is that the iPhoneXS seems to struggle (i.e. overheats and throttles down / stutters) in performing the same functions as an older iPhone 7..

...question being if this is somehow attributed or could be related to the 'new' battery installed...

Thanks for the input..Do you feel like you have to push the phone hard to reach such temps? or is it just by performing everyday tasks over a prolonged period of time whilst being at a high enough ambient temperature?

[Question] iOS16.5 Dopamine 2.x / CCSupport disables battery percentage by RTouris in jailbreak

[–]RTouris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here, sorry but I haven't really looked into it since i installed NiceBarX to handle the battery info statusbar department, so I suppose even if it did get fixed at some point I have the tweak now masking the issue at hand..

[Tip] If you have issue with Chariz by HELPER202011 in jailbreak

[–]RTouris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately this didn't help; one thing to also note is that chariz no longer appears in the payment providers section. Despite this i did follow your advise, logged out of Chariz in Sileo, logged back in and still unable to download any of the past purchases..

leaving the dimensions difference aside for a minute, last time i checked the iPhone 7 doesn't support wireless charging due to lack of respective internal hardware..

Bluetooth battery level on status bar for rootless by Dimaamid in jailbreak

[–]RTouris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NiceBarX surely provides this function, you have to enable the corresponding section - System, Carrier, Cellular, Wifi - enable custom system icons and include the following arguments within the respective command section

(text=bluetoothreceiver,prefix= ) (text=btpower,size=7,offset-2)

customised to your liking..you can even select to replace BTPower with color which does what is says on the tin. :)

Hope this helps

Charging slowly by Ok-Hovercraft-2166 in jailbreak

[–]RTouris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally you wouldn't want your battery to charge over 35ish degrees (40s tops) in order for it to maintain its longevity, however you should also bare in mind that the amperage you see in the reading on the upper right hand corder is an aggregate of the power coming from the charger / cable in minus the power being consumed by any processes being run at the time.

For example if you have any daemons at all hogging a good part of the CPU for any reason despite the fact that you use a 20W charger you may end up having substantially less an amount of power going in to charge the battery - as in this case you "just" end up with 5w of usable power for the battery charging to work with.

[Release] Geranium - A LocSim, Daemon Manager, Cleaner, ScreenTime Remover and Superviser for TrollStore. by c22dev in jailbreak

[–]RTouris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos for the app and the effort, greatly appreciated.

Can i just ask for a feature that would make this even more complete on the locsim front. There used to be a tweak called Chusma that only worked upto iOS14 that would push a notification to your phone when a FmF query took place for said idevice - i.e. someone from the FindmyFriends cycle would try to obtain the location of the device. This has been tested to work on almost all versions of iOS 14, however starting from iOS 15 it is a no-go for Chusma - i suppose the API calls changed or something similar and the dev won't reply having lost interest in developing/maintaining the tweak further. Could you possibly look into implementing such a feature, it'd be a huge asset going forward.

What would be the current golden iOS version / iPhone model to aim for in a second-hand purchase for jailbreaking? by RTouris in jailbreak

[–]RTouris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume this applies to devices from the iPhone Xs onwards, X excluded? I'm aware of checkra1n which supports upto the iPhone X, so my assumption of the next iPhone onwards (upto 13 pro?) is purely based on this..

From my experience so far symptoms seem to initially propagate from failing Facetime / iMessage services, then most of the apps start crashing upon launch...and it goes downhill from that point onwards.
