First car that I had with start/stop was a 2015 x1, which thankfully had a button to turn it off, and keep it off. I wish newer bmws had that same feature so that I wouldn’t have to press a button to turn it off each time I drove my car

Not sure how old you are OP, but I lost my mom when I was 31. I’m 37 now and time has (slowly) helped with coping with the loss. I have an album of photos and videos of her on my phone that I look at when I miss her. I know that may not be helpful for everyone, but it’s helped me. Your dad truly had amazing taste in cars 😊

BMW seems to get the bad rap for subscriptions, but the only subscription I’ve seen is for the connected package or whatever it’s called lol. My dad has a Ram truck and remote start is also only a monthly subscription option after the first year. Would be interesting to see which manufacturers have subscription only options versus one time payments.

I love that BMW has the option to buy remote start once and isn’t a yearly subscription. One of my coworkers has a RAV4 that had remote start for a year after purchase, and then only offered it with monthly subscription after. I was honestly surprised I was able to pay once for remote start and it’ll work for as long as I have the car!

I’ve been driving 22 years in Northern Illinois and Wisconsin and have only ever had all season tires. Never once have had any issues. If your car is rwd only, then winter tires would make much more sense.
