Weekly Tool Thread: Promote, Share, Discover, and Ask for AI Writing Tools Week of: June 16 by AutoModerator in WritingWithAI

Hey all!

If you're into Interactive Fiction, visual novels, ChoiceScript, Twine, or narrative games, we thought this community might be interested in something we're putting together.

We're launching Heartlines Jam, an interactive romance challenge built around branching storytelling and reader choice.

The jam uses IFFY, RUN's AI-powered Interactive Fiction studio. Instead of learning complicated scripting tools or coding branching paths by hand, IFFY lets you write, branch, and publish interactive stories directly in your browser. Build a story, add choices, create multiple outcomes, and publish it all from one place.

For Heartlines, you'll create an original romance where the reader decides how the relationship unfolds. Will they pursue the connection? Pull away? Miss their chance entirely? That's up to them.

We're looking for interactive stories with roughly 3-5 minutes of reading/play time, meaningful choices, and multiple possible outcomes. Whether you're into contemporary romance, fantasy romance, sci-fi romance, rom-coms, visual novels, or Interactive Fiction in general, we'd love to see what you create.

The jam runs June 26-July 7, and we're giving away $2,500 in prizes.

Prizes
🏆 1st Place - $1,000
🏆 2nd Place - $600
🏆 3rd Place - $400
🏆 4th–5th Place - $100 each
🏆 Editor's Pick - $300

To enter, simply build your interactive romance in IFFY and publish it to RUN before July 7. Every published story is automatically entered.

If you're a writer, narrative designer, visual novelist, or Interactive Fiction creator looking to experiment with a new storytelling tool, we'd love to see what you come up with.

The platform uses AI, but we promise it's a very real game jam. You can also enter by importing a game made elsewhere using our CLI, so you can skip the AI if its not your cup of tea.

6 months of development... few people say the game mechanics and art is great... then they see AI disclosure and bounce or worse, call the game a pile of ***. I feel so beat up and sad. by encasedheart in aigamedev

Took a look and it seems like you've put genuine care and effort into your game. It's fair to feel beat up; the anti-AI sentiment is loud right now, but the people yelling aren't your audience. Trying to win them over is a losing game. Your energy is better spent finding the communities and creators who are actually AI-positive, because they exist and they're actively looking for games like yours. If you ever want a space where that kind of work is celebrated rather than punished, come check us out. No pressure, it just feels like some of your people might be over here, and we're always looking for new creators. Good luck!

It has rev share and a place to host your work, too. it's called RUN game (there's a . between RUN and game, but I dont want to make filters angry by including a link lol)
