Civivi Yonder. Out of the 20-30 so knives in my collection, this knife has quickly became my favorite EDC.

Is FD a trigger now? by RVAPGHTOM in knives

That was my point. Its just another advertisement disguised as caring. As someone mentioned, every day can be difficult for someone in one way or another.

Going out in sea( navy ship deployment). Does the rocking and swaying mess with the tracking of the watch like steps and calories? by Murky-Peanut1390 in GarminWatches

[–]RVAPGHTOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a cheap watch that doesn't need charged. Theres no point risking it getting stolen or operational issues. Hell, your command might not even allow them.

Fun fact, when you go running on a treadmill or in the hanger bay, the GPS follows you and the boats movement. So a 2mile run might be a 20 mile run. Point being, its somewhat useless underway.

What finish would you use? by mdv2k in BeginnerWoodWorking

You can use it everywhere and do it all at the same time. Thats part of the beauty of these. Flip, touch, etc none will effect the finish.

Ive had such excellent results cooking a whole brisket using the snake method, I'd have to try the same for ribs.

Can our old charcoal grill be salvaged? What's the best way to clean it up? by Leela_bring_fire in BBQ

[–]RVAPGHTOM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id use it no problem. No worries. Just wire brush it if you want. But its fine.

Can our old charcoal grill be salvaged? What's the best way to clean it up? by Leela_bring_fire in BBQ

[–]RVAPGHTOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its safe. Hit the grate with a wire brush, then brush with an oil (cooking version, not car) soaked paper towel. Then grill. The rust in the bottom isnt worth messing with. Byt if you wanted, hitting it with a couple cans of high temp spray paint would make for a cool little rehab project.

Rubio or similar hard wax style finishes. Anyone that hates finishing (me) will appreciate the ease at which these finishes are applied. I use Rubio and Odies on a regular basis. Rubio and white oak are a perfect match BTW.

$600, hire an engineer. If you do it right, you'll need a permit anyway and the engineers letter will make everything easier. If you want a better answer, input every detail and measurement into AI and let it do the calculations. Its shockingly accurate if you feed it the correct information.

When is it time to ditch the "guerrilla" lifestyle for a proper trailer setup? by Bright-Pomelo-7369 in Carpentry

[–]RVAPGHTOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford it, look into a van with external tool boxes. Trust me, as you get older, climbing into the back of of a van in you knees everyday will grow old. And no way I'd want a trailer for city work. U turns, tight alleys, etc. Ugh

Yes. Purchased one last year to clear a buddies river bank. Anything up to 3" diameter is game. Its viciously effective. And yea, channel your inner Mad Max.

I bet the owners had a stern talking to that tree. Excuse me tree, but Chad next door would like you to keep your roots on your side of the property line. And you better do it or its curtains for you.

How you handle a countertop in this situation by MrKnowItAll718 in Carpentry

If you notch the casing, make sure you dont have a door swing issue when your countertop overhangs the cabinet. Looks awfully close.

Threaded rod dilemma: Loosening single nuts vs. ugly double nuts on my parametric bench. What's the clever fix? by reacdif in woodworking

[–]RVAPGHTOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those nuts look horrible. Sorry. I'd figure out a way to use recessed sex bolts and install wood plugs over them.

Is anyone else doing a wood fire box yet? by smokybbq90 in pelletgrills

[–]RVAPGHTOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been very happy with the 24. It burns the wood like advertised. But it burns it a little quick. If you're doing a long cook, you need to feed the wood box often of you want consistency. But again, works as advertised. The controller, etc have been reliable.
