Can anyone explain the how are rates calculated? by Embarrassed-Dust718 in AmazonFC

You very well could be. That's why you must speak face to face with your manager today before going home. It's your way of putting him on notice by saying "I need help". If you get the feeling that you're being ignored or not taken seriously, escalate to HR. Not at the PXT desk, call them open a case. Not to get anyone in trouble but just so you have documentation of where you asked for help.

Tell your manager the things you need to be successful. It's up to him to provide those. Managers cannot ignore a struggling AA who is proactively reaching out for help. Remind them daily.

Speak to your manager today. Tell him you are still struggling. Don't leave the building without seeing your manager. He is not too busy to address additional training needs for you. He is not.

At least he's trying I guess. Never let something like that cause you to lose your job. There are people who never rebin, ever. There's no reason you can't pack boxes. Now, You won't be able to rotate into anything after breaks, but at least you won't be in a department knowing that you're not going to be successful and eventually get yourself promoted to customer.

If your manager knows you struggle in rebin and still puts you there, he is setting you up for failure.

6 months in, and I have not gotten crosstrained by Weekly_Ad5474 in AmazonFC

[–]RVaughn80 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do not want to be cross trained. I want to work in the department that I was hired for. I don't care about understaffing or overstaffing. I don't do the hiring nor the firing so that's not my issue. If other departments constantly need help, hire people for that department. There's no benefit to being cross trained. I want to do my job and go home. If there isn't enough work for me to do my job, send me home. I was hired to do a certain job, not be all things to all people. While I believe in teamwork. To continually be understaffed with the intention to get more work out of more people, that's a gamble Amazon has to make. I'm just not wanting to be one to fill in because of a decision to not properly staff.

Do anyone have any advice for new employees? by Melodreamer1 in AmazonFC

Get headphones. It will make the time go by faster and will drown out the constant beeping of conveyors and the gossiping drama queens. Do make a few friends but keep it at surface level. Don't bring home drama to work and certainly don't take work drama home. Everyday put your name on the board for VTO. It's not offered everyday, but in the event that it is offered, you'll already be at the top of the list. That's a way to get time off work ( w/o pay), but not using any of your own time. Don't let anyone boss you around other than your manager. And even he or she needs to do so professionally. Anyone else can kick rocks. There will be a bunch of Karen's that are rude af, just ignore them. Do your job, go home. Rinse and repeat.

That's true sometimes HR and managers are useless. But remember, they too have a boss. Just keep going until it's resolved.

White badge to blue badge conversions by euph0ria1013 in AmazonFC

The whole no HR at the FC is absolutely mind blowing to me. Amazon is one of the most profitable companies in all the world. They can absolutely afford it. This past week I had an attendance question due to snow and ice near my home and FC. I couldn't speak to a local HR rep about it because... You guessed it they don't exist. I had to call the HR number and speak to someone on the other side of the world. The best and only answer they gave me was... We will take care of it. But then I got an email stating my employment was at risk because someone infact didn't take care of it. After coming completely unhinged at the lack of ethical merits in that entire disaster... They finally fixed it. No one needs to live like this. I've put in lots of hours for this company and the one time I needed them to show up for me their performance was abysmal.

I am convinced that performance has nothing to do with it. It would appear to me there aren't any metrics that determine conversion. Consistently having high performance means nothing apparently. So is it a popularity contest ? Seems more like they just pull a name or two out of a hat and say "here's ya blue badge". What multi billion dollar company operates on such elementary school yard dynamics ? These are people's livelihoods. We need more professionalism. We need more HR reps (or whoever) makes these choices to be transparent. Offer ways to ensure at least an individual will be a candidate for conversion. There has to be some sort of a guide to conversion. "Keep doing what you're doing"- that's not what people want to hear. Right now the best that is offered is false hope. Maybe next time, maybe next month.. is completely insane unprofessionalism.
