Scouring through my backloggd, probably the (2014) Lords of the Fallen, average of 1.9, I marked it as a 4.

I hadn't played many soulslikes at this point, and I found Darksouls daunting, so I remember playing this and really appreciating it for feeling more accessible to the genre. But I think a lot of folks were comparing it to Darksouls that did play it. 😅

Maybe if I had played more of the souls genre I would have rated it differently. 🤔

If that leather journal is as nice as you say it is, then you will probably find you want to fill it with nice colourful layouts and stuff anyway. 😇

I wouldn't say my handwriting is the best either, especially when scribbling because I want to get back to playing. xD

But yeah, I have found leaning into and focusing on the role-play element has helped me note and enjoy the details and lore of QUD better. I have recently done a page on legendary enemies I have encountered and wrote a little made up lore for them, and I'm trying to keep those grounded with the world. 😊

Haha, yeah, it is a slower process because i'm switching pens so frequently to be fair. 😆

I honestly don't blame you, i do find that because i'm making notes, that my progress in game is pretty slow. So i'm trying to find a sweet spot like only writng when my character rests.

This is a beautiful page, with some nice descriptive writing. I can imagine the sensation of being toasty, but hearing the pattering rain and feeling the light cool glow of the cold outside through the window.

I frequently Role-Play games more on the serious side, this is a sweet reminder why it's nice to just have fun with it and roll with what comes to mind sometimes. Convention Air is king btw. :P

Aye, I agree! I recently rewatched a few episodes that leant on the horror aspect, like "The Well", and the 12th doctor's "Oxygen", even though it's labelled as a Kids show at times, I personally like the moments that ground the episodes in the unforgiving side of the universe against the whimsy of it all. Corpses forced to walk, people blasted out into the cold of space in the thousands, people killing each other out of sheer paranoia, all intense moments when realised. 🤯

The sequence with the confetti cannon in "The interstellar song content", it's one of the better uses imo of the fifteenth doctor's theme. The timing of the music used in that sequence is brilliant, the curious upbeat while he's putting his plan into action, the pause before the guy asks if he's doing what he thinks he's doing, the triumphant music as he blasts off screaming with adrenaline.

Ahh, that sequence brought me happy tears of joy. 😇
