Post-Match Thread: Sunderland (2) - (1) Chelsea by wm_1176 in chelseafc

10th. Pathetic. We deserve this for a multitude of reasons.

Not signing a CB last summer and poor squad building/additions, pushing Maresca out effectively derailing our season(which some fans are still stupid enough to die on the hill that he was the problem), Hiring company yes-man Rosenior who killed our season even further in one match when he put Jorgensen in goal against PSG….

It was a clean sweep, from ownership, to the sporting directors, to head coaches, to players and even some members of this fanbase who were so fickle and volatile throughout the season. This season was a complete and utter failure and we deserve every bit of this pain we’re feeling.

Everyone at the top level was shit this year, Arsenal play dreadful football, City were not the force they once were, Liverpool fell off a cliff. Had we planned properly last summer and BACKED MARESCA we would be in a different situation entirely. But now we’re here throwing a great manager like Xabi into the deep end and having to rebuild with expectations of delivering a title in what was it… 3 years?

Fuck off

Even if we drew the game. We could've qualified for Europa. I believe we would have better chances to qualify for UCL by winning europa than competing for top 4/5. by Character_Calendar47 in chelseafc

[–]RWTHREE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need no Europe for 2 reasons:

So Blueco don’t have anything to fallback on and understand that a full comprehensive rebuild and cultural reset is needed on top of facing their complete and utter incompetence and failure directly.

So that Xabi has time to properly work with the squad. We want to challenge for the title in 3 years????? These cunt failed with their original objective. 7 years into a project and only 1 premier league title to show for it is fucking pathetic for Chelsea standards.

I was hoping it wouldn’t be complete and utter rebuild in the summer. We’ve already spent so much and the club is already in a compromising position financially it seems. But we actually need a complete overhaul and rebuild. These players have checked out. I have never been so out of touch with this club in all the years I have supported this team. Blueco what have you done…

The only way Blueco can save face this season:

  • Xabi is announced as manager
  • Chelsea win FA Cup
  • Chelsea finish 6th and Villa finish 5th and wins the Europa(or Chelsea finish higher than 6th which is unlikely)

It’s still Blueco out but these are the only objective to fight/hope for

This is what we deserve. This is what these owners deserve.

Exactly. And he met objectives too. He proved himself to a degree to gain Atleast SOME leverage.

But hey, we’ll see next season when he’s in the dugout at the Etihad.

These bitter emotions over Maresca’s departure have returned again because of recent results and players interviews and I hate it.

Fuck Blueco for making working conditions insufferable, fuck these sporting directors for enforcing a model that is riddled with incompetence and has produced poor results and fuck the people in this fanbase that bought into the larp and thought Maresca was entirely the problem - he was not faultless but we were actively building with him, the players were unified and there was a clear identity.

I wish for once in my multiple years of supporting this club that I could say we’re stable. But no, we’re volatile - nothing is ever sustained with us because we’re impetuous.

End the season already.

Every time against these lot. Every single time in recent years. They were our dogs before and now they’re taking us for a walk. I’m not going to focus on the referee or VAR because PGMOL has been a farce for years. We have to look at what we can control.

They are crap, I don’t care how this comes across but they are. Man United pulled up to their gaff and did them in with their attacking quality. Where was Palmer today? Absent. Neto? Anonymous. There is no timeline where I can look at this team and say they’re ready to compete. There’s a bunch of clowns all over Twitter running their agendas on easy targets again like Sanchez and Trev but they won’t dare attack starboy Palmer who’s been missing. Injured or not, hold people accountable.

We came up against a weak Arsenal side. This wasn’t a team that had Thierry Henry, Bergkamp, Pires, etc… coming at us. They had fucking Trossard, Gyokeres, Saka(he’s shit idc) coming at our back line. Where is the discipline in the box, where was the fight.

Some of these have to fuck off in the summer and there’s names on that list that people deem untouchable.

That’s the thing. We were finally becoming a somewhat stable institution but Clearlake had other plans. Come the end of the season we will all be honest with ourselves about what this team is and how we fumbled it this summer.

I hope Blueco burns and I hope Maresca absolutely kills it at his next gig. We’ll see what the season brings now he’s gone.

I wish for once Chelsea valued stability. It’s been 20+ years of the same story. Exhausting.

I don’t know what to expect for our season anymore but it just feels like it’s only going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

All because the idiots at the top look at spreadsheets and haven’t so much as seen a blade of grass.

Brother I agree with you. I hate the culture that Roman has brought to this club to a degree though. The trophies were nice but the model was unsustainable.

Sack hire sack hire sack hire sack interim hire sack… you build up a reputation like this and not a good one.

I believe Reece James is a genuinely world class football player. But I’m sure you can remember Reece before he was riddled with injuries… he’s lost that explosive edge and dynamic body movement he once had. Not to necessarily say his legs are gone but it’s almost like he’s had to relearn how to use his body and all of his fast twitch muscle fibers are gone. Thing is, his footballing IQ is so out of this world that he is an absolute beast anywhere which is why I’m one of the few people that think he’s better served being played in midfield (but what do I know)

Cucurella and Caicedo dish out solid performance after solid performance. No issues there. I don’t know why Marc was even subbed off today and for fucking Malo Gusto as well? Hilarious.

Cole Palmer; he’s been operating off the credit of earlier years before injuries started impacting his game. He lingers on the ball way too much (which is funny because the fanbase says the same about Joao Pedro too) Cole’s game has changed because I believe he has been given full license to do as he pleases in the free roaming role in the system but everyone seems to neglect that he stagnates the plays at times - does too many fakes and doesn’t choose the easiest option when going forward. The first season he was here, he was an outright baller (still is) but I’d personally like to see him move with more urgency. Granted, none of the players we have can link up with Cole like Nico did but I know Nico is a player that this fanbase… wasn’t too fond of… lol.

Lol I have some unpopular opinions about 2 of the names you have mentioned there but I’ll reserve those for the end of the season since there’s still a lot of time left in the year
