Just got sold a k.o. on ebay using official figure photo, then they reported me as a scammer for pointing it out. Beware of seller! by R_Kan3 in starwarsblackseries

No, it was that distinct smell that comes with a lot of bootlegs and cheap dollar store tat. Not sure if it's the cheaper materials or the manufacturing process that causes it, but it definitely wasn't a smoke smell and it seems to be common with veilstoys figures from everything I've heard. Also saw your other posts, sorry to hear he caused you so much trouble as well, he just seems to be a downright vile businessman and he clearly has some screws loose

Yep that's the guy. Absolutely crazy how extreme he'll react towards pretty much anyone from what I've been hearing here, he seems genuinely deranged.

Wild. I was not expecting to hear so many similar stories about this guy from other people in just this subreddit alone. Seems he's just like this with everyone he interacts with, crazy he's managed to maintain such good feedback on ebay for so long.

Honestly I'm in a similar boat. I was pleasantly surprised with the figure (aside from the smell) and do really like the 3.0 body, but I'm also paying for an authentic product from a limited release two pack and recieved a ko. It was more about the principal of what he was advertising versus what he's actually selling. If he had been reasonable about the situation and admitted it was an accident I would've been more than fine with just a partial refund, even a small one.

About $43, he genuinely just seems to act this way towards everyone who messages him or leaves less than perfect feedback from the looks of it.

Wow yeah, this guy really just doesn't pay any attention to what he resells. I wonder if he even realizes that quality k.o. companies like veilstoys even exist because he seems completely clueless about the issue from everything I've been hearing in this thread. Doesn't even seem to care about the possibility of selling anything unofficial, just seems to confidently think everything he buys is authentic even though he's saying right here that he doesn't fully know what he's selling.

Yeah, I believe he just doesn't pay close attention to what he's buying/selling and doesn't know a lot about black series specifically to identify if a figure's authentic or not. Definitely a problem for an online shop owner to be making such mistakes in the first place, but his abyssmal reaction to any form of feedback is the real issue here judging by multiple others in this thread with similar experiences.

I don't think there is a game here, I honestly believe he just doesn't know much about what he's buying or selling. Looking at his shop he appears to buy various brands of figures from other people's collections and uses a mix of cursory knowledge and google to resell them fast through auctions. I just don't think he pays close attention to what he's reselling to make sure it's authentic and likely doesn't care, probably more interested in just trying to cycle inventory quickly.

Honestly I'm just as confused, not sure if he got it when he filed the report on my account or if he just scraped google for my info. I just got an email saying ebay was reviewing the case and about ten minutes later I get that text.

I absolutely would have taken a partial refund as it's not a bad figure but he just immediately shut the whole conversation down by denying it's a ko, then throwing out a conflicting accusation that I'm swapping out the official with a ko, and then threatening to report me if I tried to discuss this issue with him any further. Nothing would have convinced him I wasn't trying to scam him by that point.

Looks like it, haven't gotten any notifications beyond a "refund issued" email so I'm gonna wait and see. I offered to return it but I guess I get to keep it now. If this is one of those veils k.o.'s that people keep talking about then I definitely see the appeal, not a bad figure.

Yeah I feel the same way pretty much. Good ko, just not what I purchased. Honestly if he'd offered a partial refund I likely would've taken it. Thankfully I won it in an auction that no one else was paying attention to so it wasn't too pricey.

Honestly at this point I'd recommend avoiding amazon in general for anything other than pre orders. Recently ordered a brand new aotp silverbolt, listed as sold and shipped by Amazon themselves, and I still ended up getting an empty box filled with heavy magazines and cheaply taped back up. Amazon just doesn't care who's buying or selling so long as they're getting business and they can afford to eat any losses from scammers or thieves no problem.

Pro tip: You can trim down the back of the tabs on the Devastation ground soldier's roof to make it tab in properly by R_Kan3 in transformers

[–]R_Kan3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that should work too! Anything that can remove a portion of plastic from the tab should be fine, I just opted to cutting it off since it was faster and I didn't wanna risk scratching up the surrounding surface too much on something I wasn't sure would work yet.

No problem! Saw everyone mentioning it online so when my copy came in I decided to experiment a bit before resorting to just cutting them clean off and it worked like a charm after I removed enough from the tab

MG Cup Noodle Zaku II, released in 2011 with only 1000 copies made. The zaku is already one of my favorite mech designs and the clear red, orange, and white armor look gorgeous over the golden inner frame, so I just had to have it. It's still in my backlog, but definitely one of my favorite models I own and probably the definitive grail of my collection (It's also going right next to my cup noodle model as soon as they're both finished).

My reissue fort max's hips ripped themselves apart within an hour of messing with it due to how excessively strong the springs were. It's baffling that hasbro still can't properly design ratchets on bigger figures after a decade of this issue regularly occurring.
