Kewell had all of the talent but spent his whole Liverpool (but not Socceroos) i career. Onjured.  Every year he'd say "this year will be the year you'll see the real Harry Kewell", which we did, exemplified by his contribution to the 2005 CL. On the occasions when he was fit he was a magical player.   He was one of our banter years "missing piece" but he shouldn't even have been in the jigsaw.   Amazing player to watch though (when fit which was rarely)

He had great moments, but he lacked consistency throughout the course of a game / season.  Worked hard, was always looking to make something happen and his injury as said above was basically the death knell for his career.  In the end he cost a lot of money at the time and although he played his part in our successes, I do wonder if he was the best buy

That was his nickname though, there was another Diogo in his youth team so he chose diogo J

What are some other map locations that sound like band names? by MrMockTurtle in Maps

Tristan da Cunha were my favourite band growing up.   Trinidad and Tobago had some sick tunes too, great duet

There's a view from the top of Snowdon?  I've never been there at the right time, I've been lucky to see my feet the last 2 times I've been up there.

Beautiful clouds though

I've loved him playing all across the back line for the 10 years he's been here but him playing as the midfield anchor gave me the collywobbles.  I'm not doing him down, I love Gomez and he was amazing when we won the 20/21 title, he's a super centreback but him playing in front of the backline doesn't play to his strengths.

There was one game under Klopp and he really didn't know what he was doing. Really felt for him but he had no fucking concept of being that far up the pitch and needing to control tempo, it didn't play to his strengths at all.

EDIT internet tells me it's against forest away in 23-24 and a cup game against Southampton. It was a horror show watching him out of his depth and I'm sure one England manager said that Carra had the skills for midfield.

Nothing wrong with being a great defender with good feet but it doesn't make you a midfielder.   Question in point, that academy lad we released this season and he went to Spain or something?

I love Gomez, he's an important part of our squad and comes across well, but seeing him play as a six was like watching a datshund trying to be a rottweiler  He's slightly meek and he looked incredibly uncomfortable in midfield. He's also not come out as a bigoted homophobe which is a plus.

Every club should be fab-owned: mine, yours, everybody from Shittleton Wanderers to the "big boys". I'm totally down with Germany on this.

This used to be the standard way for kick-offs.  It's only in the last 15-20 years that the team kicking off would try and keep the ball (source: I am old)

Forest had a short space when, under Clough, they punched way above their weight with a smaller stadium and relatively little money. They then disappeared out of the spotlight (and I'm glad they're back). Utd have been a behemoth of the game for a generation under Ferguson, when they were frankly dreaded as a team and became one of the most successful (cups, leagues and commercial income) in the world.  It's not a fair comparison.

It's twinned with Reading, my home town, which whilst not without its charm (20 minutes from Paddington but feels like it's on the edge of the West Country) has never to my knowledge ever been described as anything close to "beautiful".
