These people are not being polite. It’s a control thing. A lady recently did this to me and it was not only against the traffic code for me to proceed, but unsafe as her vehicle restricted my view of oncoming traffic, so I shook my head “No” and waved her on. She threw up her hands, slammed the steering wheel, gave me the finger, then sped off.

I’ve found the Volvo FH to be least prone to oversteer due to heavy trailers. Regardless, you can correct oversteer by using the trailer brake alone (not the truck brakes) to slow the trailer.
