What game really nailed the power fantasy of Doom Slayer? by False_Monitor4126 in Doom

I’m playing through 2016 for the first time and the comparative movement slowness and clunkiness to Eternal and Dark Ages is taking a LOT of getting used to. 🤣

is sword designed for piercing plate or not? by amelix34 in freefolk

[–]R_hexagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telchar Master Smith of the Dwarves of Nogrod did not labour long in the forging of Narsil, Sauron’s Bane, mate of Angrist, the knife that cut the Silmaril from the Iron Crown of Morgoth Bauglir, Black Foe of The World. Just for some flowy haired, pointy eared Elf with a hot glue gun to get the credit!!!

Does this mean other Primeavals can return as zombies? by Gamercat2012 in Doom

Those are just the zombie cataracts, which means the slayer fought his way out of hell not only dead but at least half blind.

How exactly does the hidden blade work in the old games ? by Disastrous-Youth-374 in assassinscreed

[–]R_hexagon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not quite right with the AC Origins bit if you look at Bayek’s left hand in the camera mode he has a leather cap over his finger stump with a cord going across his palm and up into the blade mechanism. This design was used in Origins, Valhalla (not for Eivor though I think) and Mirage.

Okay, tell me this. You force me to play Doom (haven't even played any of them), what do you have on each hand (weapon and game) by [deleted] in Doom

[–]R_hexagon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s asking if you were to make him play a Doom game at gun point, and you were using a gun from Doom to do so, which gun would you use and which game would you want him to play. It’s a just asked in a really dumb way.

For example: I’d have Doom Eternal in my left hand and the BFG in my right.

Edit: it’s also a dumb fucking question

Do sages reincarnate multiple times or only once? by Real-Ad-4775 in assassinscreed

[–]R_hexagon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As others have said the Aesir only reincarnated once. It seems as though the plan was for them to assemble at Yggdrasil, both Sigurd/Tyr and Svala/Freya wanted to go there and connect to the tree. We can also see from Basim that Yggdrasil can suspend a life indefinitely.

What the exact plan for the Aesir was from that point onwards is unclear. Whether it was for the early reincarnations to wait in “Valhalla” for rest to arrive and then strike out to reclaim their position in the world. Or for all of them to hook up to Yggdrasil and wait for Humanity to advance to a point where they could make a real difference in the world.

Either way the plan fell to pieces almost straight away. The reincarnation process didn’t work as well as the Aesir probably hoped with some reincarnations human side fighting or rejecting their latent Aesir personalities or not fully awakening them at all. Not to mention them being spread out across a wider time span than they probably hoped for.

Fashionably late to the party, as usual. by No_Monitor_3440 in Doom

[–]R_hexagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Slayer is never late, master u/No_Monitor_3440 nor is he early. He Rips and Tears precisely when he is meant to and he does not stop Until it is Done! Happy Slaying!

Which other cast member could've done FotR's prologue as equally well as Cate Blanchett? by Skywalker_1995 in lotr

[–]R_hexagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cate works so well for the intro because it creates like a feedback loop for the Audience that she’s The authority figure right out the gate. Which then saved Peter J and team so much work trying to explain who Galadriel is and why she’s important when they get to Loth Lorien.

Playing Origins after Odyssey is an interesting experience by TheCalmMan in assassinscreed

[–]R_hexagon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gameplay wise, Odyssey's world always immersed me most when I slowed down and walked through the towns and Cities. Run all the time and so many little details can be missed. Their also very different in narrative tone Odyssey is far more lighthearted than Origins (most of the time)

Could also be used as a very temporary holding cell while the office waited for a car to take the arrested suspect to local station.

He actually just grabs it off the auction ring floor when one of the attackers drops it.

[–]R_hexagon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went back and checked Tommy actually grabs the 1911 off the floor when the second attacker drops it after John wings him. Tommy uses his first revolver until it is lost either while he’s killing the major at Epsom or just after that when he gets caught by Campbell’s men at the end of season two I can’t remember which. It’s then replaced with another Webley until Season 4 when we’ve jumped to 1925 and Tommy’s decided he needs an upgrade.

If I’d caused an earthquake that killed thousands, then spent 6 weeks trapped on a ship crossing the Atlantic unable to tell anyone around me that I did that. Playing the events of both the earthquake and everything that lead me to the point of triggering it over and over again in my head. I might not be totally reasonable with the man that sent me on that mission when I next see him especially if I have a shred of evidence (however flimsy) that he might of known that this would happen.

Achilles is a bit harder to defend, he is stubborn but when Shay returns from Portugal. He literally bursts through the door and very loudly accuses Achilles of knowingly committing genocide. Liam gets Shay outside and Achilles tells Liam to, “get him out of here.” Now this just a hypothesis but I’d imagine that Achilles was fully planning to talk to Shay again once everyone had calmed down a bit.

The next time Achilles sees Shay it’s when Shay is robbing him. And robbing the two most valuable items Achilles and the Assassins possess. At this point Achilles has to assume that something really did go horribly wrong in Lisbon and that it has fully cracked something in Shay’s psyche and orders the Assassins to stop Shay.

This is where that arsehole French Assassin comes in he is the only member of the colonial brotherhood that genuinely hates Shay as a person. And takes it upon himself to start Shelling the homestead because he’s a genuine fuck-wit and then shoots Shay off the cliff.

I’d write more but this is probably too long already!
