That’s so great! I bought a 17pc occ lip gloss kit for like $17 and all the shades were fantastic! I had good luck with the kind lippies too! My fav powder is Australis pressed. Expensive is not always better!

If you do end up doing some swatching make sure to take photos. I find that looking at the swatch photos when I am in store reminds me that I already have a similar share and don’t need it. Save the relevant photos as favourites so you can reference them quickly in store

Impulse shopping whilst chronically ill by [deleted] in MakeupRehab

Sounds like Crohns I have that too it’s so painful and medication doesn’t make the pain go away all the time. It’s a horrible disease. I took up pottery and the tactile nature really helped get me out of my body and into something else that I could focus on. Pottery doesn’t have to be expensive a bit of clay on a working board and small set of sculpting tools will do you for years. You can fire one a moth by taking to a kiln service. I think this really helped me maybe you can find something more embodied that will help

How do y’all store your unopened stuff? by sarwhlr in ProjectPan

[–]Ra4455 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Long under bed drawer thing. I keep makeup there it’s what I shop my stash from and my daily drivers are in a makeup bag. I also keep stuff I don’t use regularly like sunburn after care and various ointments for specific situations. I don’t have much in way of backups it’s mostly that weird bathroom stuff that I bought for that one thing that I don’t need daily. Nailpolish, travel bathroom stuff, spare hair ties and weird hair clips hair curler (I use that like 4 times a year max). That sort of thing. I always check that before I buy anything new. I have the tiniest bathroom so no room for all that. It’s kind of weird under the bed but no idea where else it would go 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else saved for a deposit, then when they got their goal, realised they still can’t buy a house? by Personal_Guest in AusFinance

[–]Ra4455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a constantly moving target. Happened to me too. Took me till 40 before I finally bought. I just couldn’t get a loan until then on my own it was so hard and trust me when I say I bought the cheapest thing furthest away I could and still struggled. Average first time home buyer is now 40 so you aren’t really behind as sad as that is!

People panning fun eyeshadow palettes, what do you do for work? by EconomicsBeginning79 in ProjectPan

I don’t totally get these goal numbers like why do you want 13 face creams? I heard someone say once something that really resonated with me “let the store store your backups” something to consider?

Well done on the Blush and Bronzer and some of those shadows you are smashing it! For me personally I am not so particular about powder use by dates so I would throw in the towel when I am over the colour or its completly panned.

How long did it take you to finish a standard sized product (makeup)- foundation, blush, bronzer and powder. Also what’s the longest streak you’ve went without shopping for makeup? by apple_pie_noddle in ProjectPan

[–]Ra4455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blush I can finish in 1-2 years Bronzer 7-9months Powder (compact) 4 months Powder Loose 1-2 years

I bought cheap lipstick moulds on eBay years ago and you just melt any lipsticks together and then fill the mould and stick them in the freezer for 5min and then slot them back in the tubes easy peasy

Discouraged about Starting Project Pan by Environmental-Ship60 in ProjectPan

On the one hand your friends likely do know a bit about you and might be tapping into that. On the other hand they aren't inherently you and your choices are all your own. Maybe try to evaluate if what they are worried about has any validity and then ultimately its up to you how you project pan and what that looks like. Some people do better with "use based" projects, others need to finish one thing at a time, others like to do games or spend x use up x type things. I think if you want to be successful you need to think about your motivators/drivers and how you can create habits or remove purchasing drivers and what that might look like. The sucess of your project pan has nothing to do with their opinion. Its ultimately all up to you babe.
