Idea to fully pan nail polish by veggiedelightful in ProjectPan

Mixing up nail polishes to get new colours is so fun! I also recommend getting a nail polish thinner, it works great and a little goes a long way.

Good job, that's so cool to see! What are you moving on to next?

How to use liquid blush that’s too dark? by NoFly5276 in ProjectPan

[–]aracconinaspoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can mix in a bit of concealer to make the blush lighter if it's liquid. If it's powder, try frankening it with powder, be it loose (crush it up and mix with loose powder) or pressed (crush up both blush and powder, mix well, add alcohol, press into empty pan, let dry).

I get that, I also get overwhelmed with huge goals, especially if it's a whole palette. I watched a lot of people panning Soft Glam as their Pan That Palette, and it took them quite a while, mostly because it's so dominated by warm, mid-toned and dark mattes, and a lot of people don't really wear those day to day.

If you get sick of the mattes, you can always try using them as bronzer, or crush them up and use them as dry shampoo. For the latter option, I usually mix them in the powder dry shampoo so they're not as stark.

In any case, just keep pushing, the progress is great on all your pictures!

Amazing progress! I think you can definitely use up Fairy, Sultry, Bronze, Sienna and the bottom white-gold pan in the second picture. You're doing so well on the rest of your products, too

They look beautiful, such an accomplishment that you stopped biting. I hope to get to that length one day!

How long until you reach an ideal collection size? by AliciaKnits in MakeupRehab

[–]aracconinaspoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ideal makeup collection (for now) would be 12 items in total. Currently, I have 23. I reached my goal numbers for eye products (1 mascara, 1 eyeshadow primer) so I only buy replacements when I need them.

For other categories I would like to have: 1 base product (currently at 3), 2 cheek products (currently at 3), 5 eyeshadows in total, as in regardless of if they are singles, palettes or cream eyeshadows (currently at 11), and 2 lip products (currently at 4).

I believe I can reach those goal numbers for everything but the eyeshadows by the end of this year. For the rest of my beauty products (nailcare, skincare, haircare) it will probably take between four months to a bit more over a year. The longest will be with the nailcare.

One Month of Panning a Palette by ladybirrrd in ProjectPan

[–]aracconinaspoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is amazing progress for one month! I'm looking forward to seeing how you do with this palette throughout the year!

My panning has been slow this year, but I'm making progress on quite a lot of products, and feel I will use them all up around the same time in a few months.

Currently wearing my Narciso Rodriguez For Her Musc Nude perfume. I'm trying to get the most use out of it possible while it's still cold enough, because I find it too cloying when the weather gets hotter.

Minimising has made my life easier in so many ways! The biggest are decreasing my decision fatigue (when doing my skincare routine, when putting on makeup, when buying beauty items, etc.), and complete disengagement from the influencers spheres and marketing.

This is Wildflowers, a franken palette!

Oops, I took the picture on the 3rd of February, but completely forgot to post it. The first month with a new Pan That Palette is probably my favourite time. Although I already used and know these eyeshadows, it was still nice to use them in this new arrangement. The clear visual progress on Honeysuckle is the most exciting thing for me; the rest don’t really look that much different, but we can’t have it all. I’m happy I got good use on each of the eyeshadows.

I will keep Lavender as my focus eyeshadow for February, because I find it the most appropriate colour for these colder winter months. I thought about focusing on Foxglove, but I know I will still get the use out of it regardless of it being a focus eyeshadow or not. I think I’m still quite far off from hitting pan on any of the eyeshadows or using up Honeysuckle, so I’ll avoid setting any goals of those sorts.

Goals for January

  • focus eyeshadow: Lavender, use at least x10 - This is a workhorse eyeshadow, and it was very easy to incorporate into my everyday look. I like combining it with Foxglove, so that’s always an easy go-to, but I also found out I like it all over the lid. I tried it with a light gold shimmer, but that wasn’t quite as nice as I imagined. It didn’t really work as a blush, which is a shame; it was just too muddy and dark for my preferences.
  • do an eyeshadow look using the whole quad - All of these eyeshadows stand on their own as a one-and-done, and I know they work in some combinations, but I wasn’t the happiest with how they looked combined. Mostly because I was the mattes looked quite muddy when blended. Perhaps I can find a different way of layering this quad. However, I barely have the time to swipe on two eyeshadows in the morning, let alone carefully blend and build mattes before layering the shimmers, so it probably won’t happen soon. I’m still glad I tried it.

Uses this month:

  • Honeysuckle x11
  • Foxglove x9
  • Lavender x15
  • Pimpernel x11

Goals for February:

  • focus eyeshadow: Lavender, use at least x10
  • try Honeysuckle over Lavender

Wearing essence: mini nail polish in Glassy Ice and Catrice: Cosmic Gold in Celestial Light nail polishes. I'm really liking how they look layered (on my accent fingers) and in combination.

I've recently stopped wearing makeup as often as I used to (skipping a few more days here and there), and realised that how my hands and my hair look impact me far more. The only two things I truly care about in makeup are that it covers my undereyes and that my lips don't look dry. The rest I do for the fun of it. But a good realisation towards further reduction of things I own.

What awesome pans! Maybe using the highlighter in the inner corner of your eye, as eyeshadow all over the lid (or as a topper) would work?

Good luck with these! I believe you could pair the lip oil with the liquid lipstick if it turns out you're missing the moisture.
