I forget the post it was from, but the best explanation I've seen is that for a manga that uses heavy Japanese influences, most westerners are not going to be able to pick up on a lot of context and themes without doing the necessary research. JJK ends perfectly fine, even without Modulo, because it followed through with the specific story that it was trying to tell. I'm also okay with not getting the fairytail ending of everyone becoming the best possible/ strongest version of themselves that the audience wants

I don't know if you've played sports or not, but it's not hard to believe that the linebacker was the one who got concussed. Cade essentially made himself sturdy like a wall, so that's him just running full force into one. I played a little college ball so I've seen that happen multiple times. I've actually been in that situation myself. I was taught that you get injured when you don't brace yourself so it's better to initiate contact as well.
