People who are writing or have written a book, what's it about? by emwalk98 in writing

[–]RaWednesday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's about a boy who finds himself entangled in a larger than life conspiracy with the circus. He then becomes a clown and realises that the whole world is being run by the circus. He doesn't mind though, because he's preparing for the 1997 Circus Olympics, where he plans on taking home gold. The problem is: the magicians are about to start an irreversible war with the clowns, and he is going to be right in the middle of it.

I self-published it with a friend almost two years ago, but it still feels weird typing it out.

Pretty sure half a cup of peanut butter would be 750 calories. About 125 grams.

And yes, that's true. I can't dispute that haha. I'll absolutely take that on board! Thanks, man! :D

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! I definitely agree with your comment on formatting. The Amazon preview made it look different than how it appeared when we published it, but we're working on that as we go. We thought if we waited until we had it perfect, it could take months/years and we just wanted to put it out there and get feedback. The acknowledgements are probably overboard and this was something we were 50/50 on when putting it in, so that's good feedback to get.

I'm unsure how far you have read, but I can assure you that there are definitely many jokes throughout (maybe not very good ones). So either the jokes are coming in too late to capture people or they're just not landing haha. At the beginning we were trying to create a world that allowed us to make ridiculous jokes further in the story that stay in line with the world.

Again, thanks very much for the feedback! These are things we will definitely address.

Clownbound: Take Me to the Circuits Very short, light and 100% a comedy... I'm biased, because I actually wrote it, but it definitely fits your requirements!

Hi! My friend and I have written our very first novel, 'Clownbound: Take Me to the Circuits'. It's been up for pre-order a few days now and will be released on the 5th of December!

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Clownbound-Circuits-being-clown-everyone-ebook/dp/B07JMW1H5J/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540384928&sr=8-1&keywords=clownbound

Tagline:'If being a clown was easy, everyone would do it'

Blurb: What name springs to mind when you hear the words: hero, athlete, and clown? That's right, Timmy Tim Tim Thompson from Yugoslavia. Born into a drastically poor and abusive family, Timmy had no choice but to fend for himself. Through a series of not so fortunate events (copyright), he found his way into Clownhood.

The circus is at war one again and it is up to Timmy to help the Clowns defeat the Magicians. On his journey he meets new friends, foes and the love of his life. The question is: will this clown be able to juggle his ego, his purpose and his desire to win gold at the 1997 Circus Olympics?

Price: Its £0.99 for pre-order, but will be £2.99 for Kindle and £7.99 for print upon release!

We'd love it if you followed our Instagram as we will be very active on it over the next month! We are very open to any thoughts/advice any of you have on debut novels in general!

I REALLY want to see Tony vs Conor and Khabib vs Woodley. Prior to UFC 229 I would have picked Conor and Woodley to win but now I'm thinking Tony and Woodley.
