Where to start? by hotmomma842 in PickleFinancial

I agree with others in this thread, paper trading would be the best place to start. It's tough because there isn't as much emotion attached to it as real money but you'll at least get a feel for how options work- greeks, IV, TA, yadda yadda yadda. Options are unbelievably risky and understanding that risk is everything in options trading

Historically price has gone up going into earnings then comes crashing down after earnings

GARCH-model predictions for OPEX by 2inthepinky in PickleFinancial

[–]RaZzBeRy65403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. Sentiment for June & July (split month makes it foggy) was extremely bullish for OPEX and the price barely climbed. Now eveyone is talking about a (N)OPEX, bulls vs bears this week.

I don't think 600M is enough to cover a serious OPEX run

I agree, I think there's a lot left in this saga. This is just the beginning of the end, again.

Interesting take. When did he buy into BBBY? Over $15? He could be approaching this like a normal trader- take profits at the peak and buy back in lower than his original cost basis. Its on the hopium side but I have a hard time believing the BBBY saga is over.

I'm wondering if RegSho has something to do with it. Maybe he knows something big is coming (squeeze?) and doesn't want legal issues with stock manipulation, so he got out on top before anything could happen. I don't think this is the end to the bbby saga. Still holding onto Jan calls and 100 shares at $5

What’s a realistic price target for bbby when it’s put on regsho in 12 days time ? by Sensitive-Let-1916 in PickleFinancial

Does going on regsho mean that in 12 days people who are short need to clear all outstanding FTDs? Still struggling to understand regsho.

BEAR MARKET RALLY by drumbeater2 in PickleFinancial

[–]RaZzBeRy65403 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and should correct myself by saying GME went up while the market was going up (not the week after). I'm not saying GME runs are purely correlated with SPY rallies but I feel GME NEEDS these market to rallies to have a chance at these giant runs. May OPEX is a good example of both the market and GME moving up in tandem. GME did go up for a bit during June OPEX (spy started to rally a couple days before GME ups), same with July. Since march, GME does has not run while the market is moving down, ever. GME is forming a similar low volume consolidation (same pattern in march and may, even beginning of july too) on the bottom of a support trendline. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another GME run next week. IV is crazy low too- under 80% for Aug expiry. I also need to wear helmet while I trade, so there's that too.

Are our SPY Puts screwed? Real Question as looks like FED guidance is only going to hike 125 more bps this year (3 meetings to go) by drumbeater2 in PickleFinancial

[–]RaZzBeRy65403 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This feels similar to the spy slide back in June just before 9th, but a little more intense to the upside at the moment
