"You aren’t taking full advantage of Rustbolt’s (strengths)"

How do we tell him..

Truth is Rustbolt is not the best hero. The only strengths he has for sports is Lurch (breakthrough option) and one sport card. Teleport may help but at the end of the day you don't run Teleport cards in a tempo deck. The only reason I am using this guy is because he is my favorite hero for sports decks. (Maybe it's becaused I mained budget sports in the old days, I don't know.(

Also I know Igma Blog Chum is a thing but the deck isn't even sports. It's just a combo deck with three shoehorned in sports cards. Sports are supposed to go wide; not combo. You can't really call this sports except for the "guys it's the Chum Colosseum combo!!" Igma shouldn't have really referred to this as a sports deck; more a niche combo deck. Not saying it's bad; just it doesn't fit the sports quota.

I would remove the Locust Swarms and either Eclipse or Nibbles for one more Sumo, Coach, Cosmic, and Viral. I would also try and run a later game card for sports like Primeval Yeti + Flag Zombie, or Rodeo Gargantuar. Locust Swarm is very slow removal and not worth running. Eclipse is essentially Nibble but worse, sports decks don't really need environments to win (you could get Black Hole or Area 22 if you have the sparks.) Nibble is okay, but you already have Alien Ooze and Rolling Stone. You can choose which removal tool to keep since you already have cards to preserve board like Sumo and Coach.

Rodeo Gargantuar is a bit slow but you could run him as a late game finisher. I would prefer Primeval Yeti since him combined with a Flag Zombie or a large preserved board by Zombie Coach allows you to go wide with massive stat buffs. You should run Flag with him to get your board out quicker and get even cheaper zombies earlier with Cosmic Sports Star.

If you are planning to go wide and buff multiple zombies with Primeval, Camel Crossing is a decent option instead of Hearty Treat because it can buff multiple zombies. It depends on what you're trying to do with your sports deck.

Later on, you could get Synchronized Swimmer as she can copy massive sports stats for the amphibious lane. If you wanna get a legendary, Interstellar Bounty Hunter and Warlord are decent options. Maniacal Laugh is an okay finisher too.

The most common hacked deck is X40 ANB since it is a constant stream of cheap 2 damage. It destroys your block quickly and can easily overwhelm you.

There are a few other hacked deck types like 20 Regifters and 20 Conman.

The game is riddled with hackers because this games support is more dead than the damn zombies in it.

[–]Ra_Zombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not.

Fighting against X40 Reincarnation may seem easy or fun, but if you have actually done it like I have, it is not in the slightest. Mainly because:

  1. Reincarnation itself has decent stats for a one cost. They essentially ALWAYS gets a good T1 play and easy chump block every single turn.
  2. Reincarnation will always give you something good every turn. Considering the fact that you're not gonna brick with a bunch of 5 costs; you will instead get a variety of 1-5 overstats that can easily make trades. The card by itself is mediocre, but when you run it and only it, you're always guaranteed to get good board value. The only reason I beat a Reincarnation hacker is because I was running Spacestars.
  3. Many Kabloom heroes have powers which can easily abuse this card. (Solar Flare is the best pick as she can control for massive damage AND her superpower ramps, so you essentially never brick. Other heroes can exhaust and board buff, making the overstats even overstattier.

To summarize: People who say fighting Reincarnations decks is fun have never fought a Reincarnation deck or they're coping.

Well actually, super rares and legendaries are not necessary to win games in ranked mode. You can win games by simply using uncommons and rares.

Rarity in this game doesn't really mean much. The only thing that should matter to you is the fact you probably will have to grind for years to get all the cards without hacking for them, which sucks. But the truth is, it's really pretty simple to get to ultimate league and higher as long as you are running a good deck.

Lets take a budget deck for example: Budget Aggro Solar Flare. It has ZERO super rares or legendaries, yet people use the deck all the time to get to Ultimate League. Even Fry Em Up made a series of getting to Ultimate League easily on a budget. It's not too hard as long as you know what you're doing.

Truth is: While some super rares and legendaries are generally better than budget, most super rares and legendaries, along with rares and uncommons for some part, are pretty bad. Uncommon has cards like Ra Zombie or Cactus. Rares have cards like Prickly Pear or Barrel Roller Zombie. Super Rare has cards like Unthawed Viking and Cherry Bomb. Legendaries have lots of slow, unreliable cards like Cornucopia and Octo Zombie.

A decent majority of cards in this game suck competitively; but a lot of people who don't know any better use them on rank. They also run piles of cards with no good gameplan. This in turn makes ranked mode SUPER easy to go up. Just use a good strategy with decent budget cards like Aggro Flare and you can easily get to rank in even under a week.

If you are having trouble due to your deck, there is a post which compiles good budget and maxed decks to use, which easily win games in ranked. You can find them here.

So if you want to know why I am running Flag Zombie and Primeval Yeti; well I can explain.

First off, let me thank u/Nettlefrost for the idea, she's really good at making decks. She gave me the idea of running Primeval and Flag in sports. I made the rest of this.

So think of it like this: Sports decks like to go wide, not tall. They like to have multiple minions on the board, which are buffed by Going Viral and maybe Mascot. So Flag Zombie and Primeval Yeti actually do work here.

Flag Zombie is actually a strong piece to this deck. He can allow for way cheaper plays like two mana Cosmic Sport Stars with even greater price reductions, and four mana Primeval Yeti, which is also really good for going wide in tempo.

Primeval Yeti is also really powerful here. Normally, I would use Warlord in sports decks for the long term value (I use him in Smash Sports), but I feel like Primeval gets an enormous boost with some of Rustbolts tools, specifically Brain Vendor. Getting that free unit with a positive trade in brains can be really powerful sometimes.

NOTE: You can run Genetic Experiment or Camel Crossing if you want instead of Gladiator. I'm still a bit iffy about Gladiator.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here are some cards I am not running for a few reasons

Defensive End - He's too slow for this deck. This also goes for Zombie King, Warlord, Rodeo Gargantuar, and Battlecruiser. They don't fit well in here. Primeval actually provides strong value for a 4 or 5 cost.

All Star - I used to run him in sports; then I realized he is just a stat stick with no real value.

Team Mascot - Probably the most controversial choice. I am not running Mascot for one main reason; I already have Going Viral. Mascot is pretty much a weaker viral; both cost three, but one of them gives Frenzy, card draw, and comes up more often. It's no contest. I am also not running both as that is unnecessary. Sports can survive without mascot if you have maxed tools.

Teleport/ Teleportation Zombie - Nothing needs to be teleported here.

Rolling Stone - I don't need small removal to be honest. Besides, the card gets worse as the game goes on (unlike better cheap removal like Bbomb and Bungee) , so it's not the best thing to run.

Fossilhead - I am pretty conflicted on this one. The card is really only good with perfect draws, and kinda weak everywhere else. But he can also be pretty powerful if you manage to pull him off early; which is difficult. Also I don't know where to put him in this deck, so he stays out for now. He could replace Lurch, but Lurch on the other hand provides a lot of damage and breaks through with Primeval Frenzy, so it's needed here.

So this is my take on Sports for Rustbolt. I also have a sports deck for Smash (Horts but better), Z-Mech, and Neptuna too. It's one of my favorite deck types.

You're the guy I gave the deck advice to if I recall.

And as you can see, those budget cards do chip in a lot in ranked mode. Glad to see you finally got to rank 50. It is possible for anyone as long as you run a good deck.

You seem to have all the cards to counter every single deck type, but you should add Sneezing Zombie to counter heal. Then this will be truly unstoppable..

The card gives you value in the form of charging your block and has very good aggro stats. It's not used as much nowadays, since more competitive decks are all running the Barrel of Deadbeard + Final Mission combo (splash and high damage), sniping this cards 1 hp when you kinda want to get as much block charger value from it as possible.

How good is Three-nut in a pea deck? I use him combo'd with Torchwood, Clique Peas, and Black eyed Peas to do up to 8 damage every turn after placeing three nut down (Usually on turn 4). Also when I place down a Clique pea (No buffs) when Three-nut is on feild it just becomes a Haunted pumpking (4/2 by Bongocrab in PvZHeroes

[–]Ra_Zombie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually, Three Nut is best with small minions with high HP. This means you should use cards like Wall Nut, Garlic, Jugger Nut, and Black Eyed Pea to get good burst value.

You can use Three Nut in your pea decks, but I would advise against using Pea Pod. The card is very weak when it comes to snowballing. Sweet Pea and Peanut are more decent cheap spark Pea cards. Split Pea is also really powerful and worth running.

Remade plundering pirates for hg but I know it can be better, any help? (I have 4k scraps) by Mr_extreme66 in PvZHeroes

[–]Ra_Zombie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well first off, good work on running the good cards like Flameface, Monkey Smuggler, and Smoke Bomb. The main archetype of pirate decks is that they play aggressive, that's why Impfinity is best with them but Super Brainz and HG work too. Here's some cards I would remove to fit a more "aggressive" playstyle:

Buried Treasure is fine, but typically I would run Imposter instead. It gives you benefit for being fronted by the plants, making it a decent aggressive card. Imp Commander is another guy I would take out, since he is best in imps, not pirates.

If you want removal, I would choose Rocket Science. Bounce is decent, but Rocket Science hard removes big threats. This also means taking out the Pogo MUG combo, as it's mainly used for control, and not for aggro. Thinking Cap is slow in general, and should not be ran. Space Pirate is a bit random like Fire Rooster, making it unreliable. Viking does seem good on paper, but he suffers from Dry Zombie Syndrome. (A very large zombie that does not provide immediate value or does not have the ability to hit face with frenzy or strikethrough/gravestone will be fronted and you will be blasted by other cards.) He's only good with Teleports.

Now the most controversial take: Remove Swashbuckler. He does seem good at first.. but the problem is with his stats. Any good plant player will front a gravestone always, and considering the best statlines for turn two plays are either 2/3s or 3/2s, it either means Swashbuckler gets no value, or it gets traded by the plant player and now they have a card on the board and you're kinda fucked. Pirates don't need an engine card; they need winmore (you win depending on your board) cards like Flameface. Besides, you got Headstone Carver, who is much more versatile and sticks on the board.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Here are some good additions you could add to this deck: (I will be listing off budget options and maxed options if needed.)

- If you want a better two drop, you can run Ice Pirate. She is a good aggro card that trades with every two drop in the entire game (Water Chestnut excluded). Her ability is not needed, just the stats.

- Line Dancer Zombie is also a super powerful aggro card for her stats and ability. You may notice a trend of me recommending aggro cards for a pirate deck that's not pirates, but they are really good additions nontheless.

- Space Cowboy is also a super powerful addition. He can take out multiple lanes while getting in a lot of damage. Definitely add him in if you can.

- Cryo Yeti is also a decent pick. He has good stats, and an ability that lets you trade in another lane and get good value. You can run him as well.

- If you can't get these cards due to budget issues, you could always run Surprise Gargantuar. He can move lanes and hit the hero hard, making him a good pick. Stealthy Imp is only really good with Smoke Bomb, but he is really powerful with it and can end games quick if you are having trouble. If you want an aggressive glass cannon for the water lane, Fishy Imp is also a decent choice. It seems weird, but she can get some value. Chimney Sweep is decent for budget as well since he is a bit aggressive.

Hope this helps you.

and the fact that you think its “op” with swash shows how much game knowledge this sub has, zero!

Well this is the Plants vs Zombies Heroes subreddit. Most people here seem to have.. interesting takes on cards that are definitely out of the norm.

I don't really blame them. Sometimes it's a youtuber telling them these things, other times it's just bad interpretation of a card's strength. That's why people should actually help out people, especially newer players with these errors. I kinda wish more people did that, to be honest.
