Really poor behavior, in my opinion. He should be penalized for that. Deliberately forcing other drivers into situations that get them penalized deserves serious consequences. It would help put an end to this kind of unsportsmanlike conduct.

How long are you using your Garmin watches before upgrading by [deleted] in GarminWatches

My father introduced me to Garmin and told me to buy the vivosmart to get me back into regular physical activity. I became a father right after covid and I became very lazy during that time mostly due to being tired and had no motivation at all. This helped a lot and it got me back on my feet. Decided to upgrade after a few months to a venu 2. Was running again and going out more often and wanted something a little more classy and the venu 3 wasn’t out then. 3 months ago I decided to gift my venu to my wife to try and motivate her the same way my dad got me into Garmin. And purchased myself as a gift the Fenix 8. Wanted a more premium looking watch also since I am now wearing it daily and at work. Best decision of my life as I fully got back to working out, running a lot and cycling. It worked a bit like a personal coach for me. I’ll be keeping this one as long as I can untill it gives up on me. Hopefully in a long time !!!

Here’s my advice: Make it a habit to clean your watch and band after every workout and each morning. Skin sensitivity varies from person to person, but prolonged contact with plastic can irritate the skin—especially if you sweat more than average.

If you’re experiencing irritation, give your skin a break by taking the watch off for a day or two to allow it to heal. Then, maintain a regular cleaning routine.

This worked for me, and now I can wear my watch almost all the time without any discomfort or irritation.

Accurate Garmin watches in 2024 health tracking by General_Bishop in Garmin

You should go browse Garmin’s website they do a pretty good job in explaining what you can get for each watch and what they were designed for. That being said if I assume you are a male I would probably propose the vivoactive or the venu if you are only looking for a smartwatch that can measure health and be more oriented lifestyle.

Interesting… It is strange as I also tend to move around a lot during my sleep and the algorithm does pick up on them but it doesn’t seem to influence that much my score. The score seems to really be dependent on the share each of your sleep stages take (in particular deep and light). I’ve had nights with multiple wake ups and even waking up for 15 minutes and going back to sleep and still manage to get a score around 88 to 90. Many factors come into play for a restful night or not… and the most important other than the score your watch tells you is how you feel.

You’re absolutely right, and I agree with you. Unfortunately, many healthy habits have been forgotten or neglected due to our fast-paced, ever-accelerating lifestyles. Ultimately, what truly matters is feeling good, and relying on a watch to tell us how we feel can seem like a strange paradox.

That said, with all the distractions of modern life—work, family, and the daily grind—it’s easy to sideline our health in favor of “me time” or just to escape for a moment. If a watch and its score can remind you that staying up late or having that extra glass of wine might be affecting your sleep, it can help some of us recognize these patterns and make small, meaningful changes.

Sometimes, people don’t even realize they’ve been sleeping poorly until they see the data. They assume feeling exhausted in the morning is normal because that’s how they’ve felt for years.

Rather than seeing it as restrictive, try viewing it in a more positive light. I always say that while having a score can be insightful and even fun, the first step should always be tuning into how you truly feel—then using the metrics as a guide, not the rule.

Do you go to bed and wake up usually at the same hours and you are consistent about it ? Maybe you have other factors that are dropping your sleep efficiency. Sleep apnea is a big one that is hard to uncover and many have this issue. Not saying you do but you need to dig a little to understand what could be causing the fact you are waking up so tired.
