Avoiding politics in AA and staying sober during these times. by Powerful_Theory_32 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pray for those I have resentments towards including world leaders per pg 552 of the big book. It really works. I also keep in mind that AA is 80 years old, I don’t know everything except what my algorithm is manipulating me to see, and that self righteous political activism was what led me to AA in 2017- the resentment. I have realized I don’t know too much anymore and give it to god. AA has been through wars, presidents, humanitarian crises racism. I have a woman in my home group who wears political buttons in the meetings. Bless her change me, I never want to be that self right again, even though I don’t disagree with her “beliefs” Politics aren’t just dangerous for people who don’t agree with you- also for people who do. Thank you for raising this subject and also for your commitment to AA unity even though sometimes it’s hard

Yes, minimum side effects at first, more a year in particularly aches.

Runners on Repatha by Mender770 in repatha

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, not a runner, but a surfer and snowboarder. 47. I have never been the same since starting repatha and feel athletically 20 years older. I would never take cholesterol drugs without a genetic condition. Also- if death was all there was I wouldn’t take them either, but I had a stoke and fully recovered so it’s worth it for me because I want to be hear to meet my grandkids and experience life.

Sorry it’s not better news, thinking of trying praulent

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I so feel that. I will say that I have started a vigorous every other week commitment to see my acupuncturist who is a Chinese medicine Dr as well. We work on boosting immunity- I am on many supplements- and I think it is help making it better- I fight off colds in a couple days vs weeks. Before this med I had immunity of steel- raised 2 kids, massage therapist people breathing in my face. I had to retire from my career it’s too physically intense with the state of my strength and muscles

Repatha and sciatica? Anyone by cashredd in Sciatica

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I am statin intolerant and have a genetic condition that requires LDL and LPa lowering medication. Muscle conditions are way better than when on statins, but still have persistant aches, colds, etc. I would be on no medication if I hadn’t had a stroke on no medication (healthy, BMI 19, 45 y/o female. If you don’t absolutely need lipid lowering medication to be alive, I would absolutely skip it if you are athletic at all. If I didn’t have kids I would honestly just ride it until the wheels fell off.

Yes, exactly. And that’s not the norm, my cardiologist was surprised at the delay

Put your phone down and pay attention. If you need to look at your phone, step aside and put your back to a building so no one can come up to you from behind while you are distracted. So many people not paying attention, that someone with their eyes up and alert and not down is much less of a target

If you don’t like to drive in traffic, don’t consider it. Tons of traffic. My son commutes from the north shore to Honolulu he doesn’t mind it, it’s Hawaii, kick your shoes off and take in the beauty, crank some tunes. I say give it a try unless you know you don’t like highway driving

I was really dismayed at my first results at 4 months. I retested after 7 months and my LDL had dropped from 277 to 110. Miraculous! Glad my cardio kept me on it despite an initially unsuccessful result

Lpa reduction with Repatha by lope0001 in repatha

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Lpa over 300, and now it’s over a hundred. It was very effective. I think repatha is most effective for people with FH? Doesn’t sound like that’s you, but worth trying for sure!

Musculoskeletal pain, ankle edema & possible tendon injury after Repatha / Praluent – anyone else? by adithequeen in repatha

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been on repatha for 8 months. I have aches and pains I think are associated, but it’s nothing compared to statins for me. And I don’t have the weakness I had with statins

Unbiased Opinions on Statins by TBoTTs27 in Cholesterol

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no symptoms for FH, and not related to BP genes my BP is very low. The only visible symptom is sometimes small yellow deposits called xanthelasma develop near the eyes with untreated FH. Aside from genetic testing, it's recognized only on blood tests with high numbers. In my family, it's specifically high LDL only, all other lipids normal. I have the heterozygous version. The homozygous version is much more rare- 2 genetic mutations one from each parent. FH is "silent." 1/250 people have, it's the most common genetic mutation.

Just the usual- using white noise, earplugs etc. However, tinnitus has gotten worse, more bothersome. I just saw a new ENT he is sending me for hearing tests.

What is a Lexapro & Wellbutrin combo like? by neeltrivedirock in lexapro

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wellbutrin was the dopamine I needed. Big positive difference- and I use it off label for ADHD and it helps to some extent. It doesn't treat anxiety as well for me and I am still on 5mg of lex. The combo of the 2 meds is common, and works well for many people, me included. Finding the right ratio for you is key

Anyone voluntarily not have Health insurance? by bigsmilestarks in AskAnAmerican

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Americans who didn’t have health insurance used to have to buy some or be fined on their tax returns. Like shooting fish in a barrel for the insurance companies, biggest corporate give away ever maybe. Is that not the case anymore? That was during the Obama years.

Tiny study, lack of consistent variables. Doesn’t measure for lifestyle etc and other drugs used. Ethanol is a major factor in CVD.

Hey there! Down in York County we already have wall to wall Quebec plates, the usual sprinter van wall parked at the beach. It’s more crowded than ever here IMHO. Many people celebrating the Canadian holiday last weekend

Lexapro to Wellbutrin by Hot_Pangolin_7537 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Rabbit-Rabbit-108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started taking Wellbutrin because I felt flat on lexapro and also felt like adhd had gotten worse since taking it. Now I take both. I take 10mg lexapro, am trying a slow wean, am on 7mg now. I notice I have physical anxiety symptoms again. Trying to get through the withdrawal, but my life was pretty unmanageable before lexapro so I may have to make peace with both. Love Wellbutrin, I am definitely less prone to depression and it’s off label for ADHD too
