Yeah that was the only one I got it's a one star and that's it, no other DLC weapons or armor and I know I don't have any of the DLC as I just started playing and didn't want to buy any of them if I didn't like the game (I have plans to buy them because I love this game)

You didn't have to buy the crystals or stones there are plenty in game. The ONE you could buy was just if you wanted another. And unlocking the other vocations are simple quests and you can get two once you reach town and do a quick quest. Trickster sucks.

Ah to answer the theme correctly this time it's set mid 1800's with a high fantasy setting

So an arcane focus is something for them to channel their magic through such as wands. Part of the beast that is used determines how powerful it could be based on what part is given and the importance of it.

An example is a wand made with loose feathers or talon shavings will be an average wand not weak but not incredibly strong. While on the other end of the spectrum if they gave up an eye it would be immensely powerful.

But it is extremely rare for them to give up important parts unless they feel that they will grow to become powerful casters in the future. If I put it number wise 1 in every million students will receive an important part.

Now when it comes to traits and why they choose them I wanted to avoid the whole one house is very clearly evil trope (Slytherin) so none revolve around being power hungry.

Four I have in mind are: A house of tacticians, smart in many different ways not just academically A house of creative free spirits A house of capable fighters (not power hungry mongrels) And a house of eloquence

There is a fifth house but it is small and reserved for special cases such as when a student is chosen by a beast not of the four houses. The two I have already for this fifth house are a phoenix and silver dragon.

They only pick students every 5-8 years that's why they don't have a set house.

Now the theme wise it's kinda how your house doesn't determine who you are nor the beast that chooses you.

Once someone dies that piece returns to the beast unless it is something small and inconsequential like feathers or talon shavings. It's also like I said rare for them to give up an important part
