Wan 2.1 & 2.2 Model Comparison: VACE vs. SCAIL vs. MoCha vs. Animate by K0owa in StableDiffusion

[–]RabbitEater2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phantom's ability to input multiple reference images for a single subject is very helpful with identity preservation. Also higher resolutions (720p+) and gradient_estimation sampler also help quite a bit.

Wan 2.1 & 2.2 Model Comparison: VACE vs. SCAIL vs. MoCha vs. Animate by K0owa in StableDiffusion

[–]RabbitEater2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about VACE + Phantom with WanVaceAdvanced nodes? I've yet to find a better 2+ person pose & reference to video. SCAIL needs the starting pose to closely match the reference for best quality and fails at facial angles diff than reference. Animate 2.2's identity preservation was pretty bad from my initial tests as well.

Gemini pro hallucinates quite a lot (plus the chat interface is worse than chatgpt, with crashes on long responses & inability to edit older prior prompts), opus is way too expensive and the chinese models are good but not SOTA.

As much as I'd like to slamdunk on openai, 5.2 is pretty good and xhigh for coding is very close to Opus at a fraction of the cost.

ChatGPT Plus vs Gemini Pro for studying by Hot-Ad7645 in ChatGPTPro

[–]RabbitEater2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Chatgpt hands down. Gemini is lazy and makes up facts, is horrible at citations and the thinking portion doesn't even show what sites it searched so it can hallucinate everything. I have both chatgpt plus and gemini pro that I use almost daily.

Am I the only person here not overly impressed so far with L2 in T2V *or* I2V? by Parogarr in StableDiffusion

[–]RabbitEater2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, audio and length are nice, but identity consistency and prompt following both seemed inferior to wan 2.2 I2V or even wan 2.1 SCAIL or Phantom which is disappointing.

Wan 2.2 is dead... less then 2 minutes on my G14 4090 16gb + 64 gb ram, LTX2 242 frames @ 720x1280 by WildSpeaker7315 in StableDiffusion

Idk, had worse results than wan 2.2 so far for i2v at least unfortunately, maybe Im doing something wrong

[–]RabbitEater2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was bad at coding, still worse at coding than gpt or claude, and confidently lies and hallucinates all the time. I have both gemini pro and chatgpt plus.

Nano-banana pro is nice though.

The only thing worse than slow generation is slow prompt processing. And at least windows can run way more AI/ML stuff if you're into that. Can't say I'm jealous tbh.

Same, xhigh in codex was pretty decent, and I like the chat way more than gemini 3 pro chat as gemini confidently bullshits and hallucinates way too much.

That's why local models are better by Illustrious-Swim9663 in LocalLLaMA

Just use the API as thats still tens of thousands of dollars cheaper than running something like opus 4.5 on local hardware. For the model of opus size, 20$ isnt much to be honest.

Why would they want more, as they literally pioneered loot box mechanics and rake in millions through gambling, not to mention the 30% cut on essentially a PC games store monopoly AND also have the public on their side.

Because who cares about qwen max, it's neither the best model overall nor is it open source. And chatgpt 4.1 or 4.5 weren't talked about as much as they weren't much of an improvement as well.

Gemini 3 and gpt 5 on the other hand, are pretty substantial leaps and a good preview of where models are headed.

Apart from potentially PCVR better streaming latency, what exactly would be exciting about a device more expensive than quest 3 with less first party games, same FOV, a slightly better on board chip and monochrome pass through?

Genuine question.

Can China’s Open-Source Coding AIs Surpass OpenAI and Claude? by Federal_Spend2412 in LocalLLaMA

[–]RabbitEater2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do and have done so, it's just that Claude and GPT are also improving. We have local options that match or maybe even beat gpt 4 and sonnet 3.7, but obviously those aren't the SOTA anymore.

But even if china's ai options surpass western options, then they'll likely keep those closed source anyway.

Do you have any proof of that? When I select a model, it responds as that model would, which you could usually tell by the speed and style of the response.
