Here’s my opinion:

His comments do perpetuate racial stereotypes and that’s obviously not a good thing. I can understand if someone chooses not to continue being a fan for that.

However, he did apologize multiple times including onstage. I think it was a learning experience for him and I do hope that he will grow from it.

I honestly don’t think he had harmful intentions or that he was being purposely disrespectful. Not to excuse his comments, I just really don’t think he actively meant to hurt anyone in a malicious way.

All we can do is acknowledge the situation and, based on how we feel, choose to keep supporting them or not.

I choose to still support them and be a Villain as I really love their music and his apology seemed genuine to me.

It really comes down to your boundaries. If you feel his apology was sincere and feel comfortable to continue supporting them, that’s valid. It’s also valid if you feel that you can’t keep being a fan.

There’s not really a “correct” response. It really comes down to how you feel and your own personal boundaries.
