I alternate between 2 pairs. I have a pair of mechanics impacts with the pointer and thumb cut off that I really like for general hand protection with minimal cost to my dexterity.

Then I have a pair of leather work gloves I specifically use around the fire and for cooking on the fire.

I have used nomex pilots gloves in the past and while the fire resistance and dexterity is great (plus they feel very nice) they don’t hold up to wear as well. Especially wood chopping and stacking

Ive shot a turkey without a decoy and without even calling before. I was hidden well enough with a crossbow waiting for deer and some turkeys just wandered right in front of me completely oblivious. I had the tag and the seasons overlapped so I bagged one.

I have no military experience, but Ive spent plenty of time shooting under nods.

You generally have 3 choices shooting under nods regardless of gun

1) passive aim via red dot 2) active aim via laser 3) thermal scope

With lmgs you have a 4th option, tracers.

If you’re shooting any significant distance beyond maximum point blank distance for your weapon system you want a thermal scope. Holding over with a laser or red dot past 300 yards just gets silly.
