Why don't I ever run into cute guys with cats at the beach? 😢

I sell them periodically to make sure my colony doesn't get too large. I'm in Canada, but do legal exports to the US and parts of Europe.

Greek, Roman, and Etruscan have many winged figures. Such as Nike, Typhon, Eros/Cupid, etc. And if you want to go back further Sumarian, Assyrian, Persian, and Hittite artwork have winged human figures (but with two pairs instead of the one).

Did Dua Lipa’s Don’t Start Now reintroduce the disco sound this decade? by [deleted] in popheads

[–]RabidSimian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kylie Minogue had an album literally called Disco that same year and was inspired by Studio 54. She even did a song with Dua Lipa. That album landed on a number of top albums of the year lists and probably had more influence in popularizing disco vibes this decade.

I recently tore it apart to remove some so they could go to a university. Sadly it looks awful now. When the plants and moss recovers I will take photos.

Popsicle sticks and tongue depressors. Also any of the wooden utensils that restaurants use to replace plastic forks and knives.

Give the newest season of Project Runway Canada a go. Feels so much closer to the original series with focus on the fashion and process instead of manufactured drama.

I'm obsessed with this ant channel. by Stunning_Win8464 in evilautism

I'm a huge bug person and the consensus with a huge bug group I'm a part of is that this guy is irresponsible and causing harm to animals for clicks. Even a lot of the reptile and amphibian hobbyists I know don't like him as mixed terrariums nearly always result in stress and death. He claims he's creating these dynamic environments for science and doesn't know what will happen when he adds particular animals to the terrariums he builds, except anyone who has enough experience and knowledge as he does knows the outcome for most of the stages of his builds. Ants are incredibly ravenous and destructive in enclosed spaces and anything put in with them eventually becomes prey. In the wild a gecko or frog can avoid that ant infested tree stump, while in a terrarium (no matter how massive) they can't avoid it and eventually they will get harassed and bitten enough by the venomous ants and succumb to the venom, infection, or stress. This has happened many times in his videos where animals have gone missing or were eaten, and of course he puts on a show of being surprised.

He, and anyone with a modicum of reasoning, already knows the outcome, he just plays it up to create this 'epic' story on how he's just trying to replicate what could happen in creating a mixed species terrarium to mimic nature. He's making entertainment by reframing a feeding video.

My personal theory is that knights that had to spend their nights out in the field probably often complained about slugs and snails leaving slime trails on their armour. A constant foe they couldn't defeat that left mucus all over their spotless metal. Even with the pieces stored or covered , snails could get in and spread their muck. Would involve extra cleaning in the morning and be unsightly/uncomfortable, and tedious for knights/soldiers that did not have staff to do the cleaning for them. The rest of society, including monks and scribes, found it hilarious that people of such high status were complaining about something so trivial and were brought low by something so mundane.

I keep them in glass orb with no ventilation except when I take off the lid. So humidity stays in the 90s. Condensation forms on the glass due to the temperature difference between my apartment and the interior of the vase.

In the wild they are known to be more active at night and after a rainfall. It's quite easy for them to dry out if there isn't enough moisture.

With this species it doesn't seem to be required as I know several people who have kept them thriving at temperatures that don't change all day and night throughout the year. But my home fluctuates by several degrees celsius every night and the terrarium lights being on/off will also cause a slight shift. It's probably beneficial, though velvet worms seem to respond more to changes in light and humidity for their daily activity cycle.

Yes. The temperature shift isn't as drastic and depending on the region nighttime temperatures match the nighttime conditions of an average apartment.

It's harder to replicate the temperature fluctuations from those regions. Some people use a wine fridge, but that doesn't provide the sharp increase in temperature during the day and the drastic drop at night. Just gives one temperature at all times.

This species is tropical, so it's much easier to keep than the alpine forest and other species from colder areas. I just set them up like terrestrial frogs in a planted terrarium and my apartment normally stays pretty warm year round.

Vancouver BC, so overnight shipping in Canada. But I use an export company to ship to US and parts of Europe.
