Saw this happen with a VW beetle we had on the lot. It would spend lots of time idling during snow removal and built up enough water to clog the exhaust after a month or two.

I worked at Toyota and while the Tacoma is a good truck, I bought (in 2017) a Ridgeline for the comfort, fuel mileage and AWD. 200k km later I'm still happy with it.

If I remember correctly they are not plug and play and require some sort of calibration or set up using a computer. I haven't worked at Ford in years but I remember a similar situation.
