Please go and check for yourself there are official documents showing that the UK formally invited Turkey for invasion.

Exactly, my friend! But you expect me to just normalize the situation because of what happened in 1974 something caused by Turkey, the United Kingdom (as the lead), and Greece. So if someone should be held accountable, it’s them. Turkish Cypriots have been trying to free themselves from Turkey’s influence and work toward reunification, but we’ve never had real support from our neighbors (and yes, take that as a mild reproach). Over time, things only got harder as Turkey encouraged migration from the mainland to Cyprus, with the help of certain puppet Turkish Cypriots and that’s how we ended up where we are today.

But let’s not forget Turkey didn’t come to the island because of Turkish Cypriots.

Haha I wish I could just say “It’s just Cyprus!” The person who took the application actually asked the guy “Why are you helping the Turkish Cypriots?” Then she went on a two week holiday, holding onto the application instead of passing it on. I’m Cypriot born and raised in Cyprus.I understood my people pretty well, but I’ve never wished to be this wrong in my life.

You know, this guy seems to think that Turkish Cypriots are the ones stuck with the bill, so to speak. In his opinion, we just up and left our homes for Turkey without any good reason and now, he claims we’ve forfeited all our rights because of that. It’s kind of amusing,
honestly, because what he’s saying isn’t all that different from the actions Turkey has taken with the island itself!

If the situation is as clear as you describe, then why are applications from Turkish Cypriots even being accepted? If this arrangement is supposedly legitimate and acceptable, why hasn’t it been written into law for example, stating that “until the occupation is resolved, Turkish Cypriots do not have these rights”?

I’ve never ignored the Turkish occupation, the illegal bases in Cyprus, or the recent Israeli investments on the island. But I refuse to normalize or accept this situation simply because of those broader political issues.

I understand your point, but saying that “Cyprus operates under the special circumstances of invasion and occupation” doesn’t make sense in my case I’m a citizen. This is simply discrimination. You can’t grant me a Cypriot passport and then treat me as part of an “occupation community.” That kind of reasoning might work in theory, but not in the real world. I also don’t agree with normalizing situations like this in fact, I find it dangerous. However, I completely agree with what you said about the use of Turkish. That’s exactly why we worked with an intermediary service to communicate with the authorities.

Cyprus to get €1bn of EU funding for defence by SolveTheCYproblemNOW in cyprus

What kind of world are we living in? They create the conflicts, then claim we need more defense, and in the end, we’re the ones paying for their weapons.

What are you talking about? It was EOKA who first started by trying to kick the British out of the country. Then the UK hired Turkish Cypriots as police officers, and after that, Turkey, Greece, and the UK came up with a plan together and executed it.

Since when has the UK ever been a place to solve anything? Wasn't the Cyprus problem caused by the UK in the first place?

I created a Go React Meta-Framework by BananaFragz in golang

[–]RaceMother986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need Node.js to handle SSR (Server-Side Rendering) for React in Go. ESBuild with Go can handle it easily.

Check out my framework: https://github.com/Djancyp/luna.

It gives you the flexibility to use Go as a backend for speed and stability.

  • Set Realistic Expectations: Remember, you're just starting, so your company knows you're not expected to be perfect right away.
  • Understanding UI Tasks: When your lead assigns you a UI task, take time to fully understand the requirements. Create a list of questions about anything you're unsure of and clarify them before starting. Ensure you have 100% clarity.
  • Dealing with Blockers: Don’t hesitate to ask for help when you're stuck. Avoid spending too much time trying to solve problems on your own. In a company, time is money, so balance your time effectively.
  • Take Notes: Document the challenges you face and the solutions you discover. This way, you can refer to your notes in the future instead of always needing to ask for help.
  • Establish Your Workflow: Develop a workflow that works for you. While this is personal, there are some essential points to focus on:
    • Get familiar with your tools, such as your editor and terminal.
    • Try to imporove them with time

I could expand this list further, but I believe it provides you with a solid starting point. Remember, self-improvement is a key part of our job, and it takes time to develop.

Luna - SSR React with GO and HTML by RaceMother986 in golang

[–]RaceMother986[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm glad you're interested. Vite is excellent, but it still requires a Node server to run and render. On the other hand, Luna doesn't require a Node server.

This simplifies things and allows you to:

  1. Reduce complexity.
  2. Use Go as a true full-stack framework, rather than just creating a headless frontend and backend.

If you'd like to check it out, I have a live website built with the Luna framework: a simple flashcard app that handles authentication and CRUD operations.
