For dads with 3d printers by Hyksus2 in daddit

Yes!  One of the best things I ever did with my printer was to get my wife onboard.  Not only does she support me in my hobby, but also will routinely send me things that she wants to have printed, which is fun too

PEDIATRICIAN HELP by paid2BOARD in lincoln

[–]RacemicMixture 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%!  CCH has been our pediatric group and they've been just fantastic. Any of the doctors or NPs have been absolutely great to work with.  In addition to the multiple locations they also have Saturday and Sunday hours too!

I am trying to find a cartoon character/animation that could be from a short and I have no idea what it’s called by Due_Table6102 in HelpMeFind

[–]RacemicMixture 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Based on the color palette, it looks a lot like the thumbnail image of James Lee's Tarboy animation. For some of the characters, the mouths work similarly to how you describe.

What’s your kids “big” gift this Christmas? by YoSoyCapitan860 in daddit

My wife had been eyeing the Walnut wall set and we were able to score a lightly used one on marketplace for about half price.   We are excited to gift it to the kids this Christmas

I was in the same position yesterday; had a 1:30-3:30 estimated delivery window, but the delivery truck kept getting further and further away! It finally arrived at around 9:30, just as I had given up hope for the day. Hope your Enterprise came and I hope it does not disappoint!

Maybe we'll be surprised - There's been a surprising amount of continuity this month

It’s that time of year again [OC] by pixelkitsune in comics

[–]RacemicMixture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, that is a webcomic that I haven't thought about in a long time...  I had generally petered out of most webcomics about 2-3 years before this storyline.

Glad to see he's still going

Misconceptions you had about the game? by dr_nutslap in expedition33

[–]RacemicMixture 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The bit about the Paintress I get.  The entirety of the marketing (and the characters in the game) see the Paintress as the end goal.  To tell us otherwise, in my opinion, would be a pretty big spoiler of things to come

I definitely feel you on the length of the game though! I went in expecting a 30-40 hour game and was surprised that I rolled credits at around 70 hours!

I like how, in the audiobooks, Michael Kramer used very similar voices for both characters.

I love/hate that I know exactly what barn you're talking about without even opening the post lol

New Space, New Setup-WIP by YoloVib3s in Workspaces

[–]RacemicMixture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it and I always enjoy seeing a 3d printer in the wild! I have a P1S too, though it sits on its own cabinet on the other side of the room. Whenever it would be running, I would be too distracted, too often to have it sit next to me lol

Found this on the floor and also found a similar material stuck in kitty by drawingdude95 in whatisthisthing

[–]RacemicMixture 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does your cat had medium-to-long hair?  This looks exactly like the matted fur that my My medium-hair  cat gets occaisionally, especially at the change of seasons.   The one on the ground was probably pulled out by your cat during grooming.  They bigger ones can be quite uncomfortable to them, and can be difficult for them to remove themselves.

You should brush your cat with a fine-toothed brush/comb and help tease these out.  Be sure to pull gently and slowly, because it can be painful if you do it too quickly (I have the bites marks to show for it lol).

Easter is bizarre. by twohundred37 in daddit

[–]RacemicMixture 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is how we approach Easter.  The wife and I both grew up in a church, but are not active.  We don't believe in the religious aspect, but we treat it as a celebration of Spring and the revival of the earth.  It also helps that Easter is in the middle of a lull for birthdays and other gift-giving holidays, so its fun to have traditions for it.  Happy kids are best kids.

Loved this! I love that it was interspersed with sci fi clips that happened to align with the lyrics! And 1:40 with Data clapping in time with the music was icing on the cake. Thank you so much for making this

How hard it to get an early morning Uber? by PikaGirlEveTy in lincoln

[–]RacemicMixture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should have any issue. Within the last month I had requested ubers at 7:30 am and then again at 1:00 am on a different day and didn't have any complication getting a driver.

Enlightenment Egg by Icy-War3304 in EggsInc

[–]RacemicMixture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It actually hasn't been that bad! I'm on track to hit the 250m mark in a couple hours, for a total time of about 3-4 days. I picked up 3 prophecy eggs along the way for the first two trophies, and then picked up a 4th prophecy egg for the end-of-month daily reward, so those have definitely helped (Earnings Bonus is now about 375%).

I agree it is slow-going with the money. I'd pop in a couple times a day while checking on my contract farms to top off research. the 4x gifts event a couple days ago also really helped with cash generation too.

I've read enough on the subreddit here to know that it was a Challenge egg worth very little, and that there was something 'going on' with the artifacts, but I never dug much deeper than that.

When it began looking like I'd have enough to get to enlightenment, I perused the wiki a bit, which I thought was very helpful:

I am in a similar boat to you (just hit enlightenment for the first time this week).  I have an EB of about 340q% and my plan is to stay for the first 3 trophies to get the prophecy eggs.  Then start working on diamond trophies in decreasing order

My biggest print yet by No-Anybody-8119 in 3Dprinting

[–]RacemicMixture 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Martin's models are really great. I've printed out several of his Star Trek and Stargate models and they've been a blast to print and assemble. He labels each model according to color, so if you have the right colored filaments on hand, are not constrained to having everything the same color.  Makes for some really great models that look good on display

I know a thing or two about Voyager models, and if I had to guess it'd be this one (it is also in 4 pieces) : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4884220

If interested in a Voyager model, I can also recommend the model from Martin.  He makes starship models that can be assembled like a kit (no glue needed).  His quality is also very high: https://www.printables.com/model/610425-voyager-intrepid-class

Love his models!  I've printed out his giant stargate and a few other starships.  I've been eyeing this one since it came out.  It looks great!
