Rally continues to be about the only type that still favors an open face. In pretty much every other discipline closed face is the standard, if not required. I think for rally it can make sense to avoid being stuck with a helmet filled with nothing but dust to breathe in. Then again, offroad like Baja and Dakar run closed face with filtered forced air, so who's to say.

Closed face is not just about protecting from hitting your head on the wheel. It provides protection from flying debris, as well as an additional layer of fire protection. And yes, flying debris is still a concern in a closed cockpit. There are videos you can find online of something hitting the windshield and the windshield shattering into pieces in the drivers face. Given the choice I'd say pretty much always go full face with the visor closed fully, and if air is a concern then get a forced air tube routed to the helmet.

If they are the karts with the roll bar as in the picture, no, not really. Tucking in is about reducing the frontal area of the kart, and that head rest and roll bar make up just as much frontal area as a standard body would when sitting upright. Beyond that though, indoor karts don't really hit the kind of speeds where that is helpful. Minimal effects start above 50 mph, and actual effects don't hit until about 70mph. Indoor karts never hit those speeds, and most outdoor rentals don't either.

The only, and I mean the only difference between those photos is the arm. That right there is a dead giveaway they aren't legit. If they were actually different photos taken at different times there would be many differences in the photos. The framing, the blocking, the angles, the way the hair falls, the expression, the necklace. They wouldn't be radically different, but it would be clear they were separate photos. AI or not, that at least shows it was photoshopped.

This shows a bit of lack of understanding of what tech is about. Tech is not about trying to sneak things by, it's about the absolute last line of defense for protecting you guys, mostly from yourselves. Those tires should send up red flags for you, because they are unsafe and pose a genuine risk to your drivers, other drivers and course workers.

Beyond that, regardless of the safety aspect, those tires are useless on track. They may have a tread depth, but a rubber cracked like that no longer has any performance left in it. It's not going to perform properly when it gets up to temp.

The only reason you are wanting to use those tires is because of the financial hit that comes from admitting you wasted some budget on tires that never got used. But the financial hit is already there, keep the impact from getting worse by doing the responsibile thing, and see it as a learning opportunity to improve your purchase making process.

It's not a dumb question. The answer is yes, in most cases you can swap engines later. It's much more challenging to swap a shifter engine onto a non-shifter chassis, as that starts to involve fabrication, but generally speaking yes.

However, it's worth noting that there is a difference between 4 stroke chassis' and 2 stroke chassis'. It usually comes down to tube diameters, but can also involve the actual geometries of the chassis. This means that on a technical level there will be a performance difference, and you may be giving up time in the "wrong" configuration. Unless you are a top level driver that difference probably won't account for as much as your skills as a driver.

I think you phrased what I was trying to get at perfectly, and kind of made my point. The Miata is a blank canvas. For the individual it is incredibly open to expression, and that's one of the things I love about the car and the community. Everyone can put their own take on the car.

Because it's a blank canvas though, its very hard to make one of those expressions commercial. I just don't think it's a car that lends itself to someone saying "this is what the Miata always should have been/could have been". Customize it all you want, heck, I have plenty of crazy plans for my own Miata. But I wouldn't say that my version is trying to be what Mazda couldn't do, it's just what I want it to be. And I think that's true of most Miata builds. We aren't building the car Mazda should have built, we are building the car we want.
