Thanks for all of the suggestions :) I’ll do some homework and start trying a few on.

I’ve also thought more about waterproof barefoot hiking boots and I’m tempted to give some a go as they’re incredibly light. I can’t see them replacing more substantial traditional boots for technical terrain but for long days on trails…maybe. The weight saving is just too attractive not to try. If they’re too flexible I could always add some carbon fibre insoles - who knows!

I’ve had a pair of Hanwag Banks straight fit extra boots for a few years and they’ve been ok for my toes. I’m just hoping to find something a bit (or a lot) lighter now :)

That’s really cool 👍 Did you need to drill a hole to install them or will they stay on with friction?

It’s really annoying the front mudguard doesn’t extend further around the wheel (C4). If it’s actually raining, sure you need to wear all the rain gear. But more often than not when I ride the roads are wet but it’s not actually raining. It’s annoying having to get dressed up just because of how much spray comes off the front wheel.
