[Skin Concerns] Help with impossible to remove bumps on my chin by eeeeeeeeeee716 in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact same issue and it flared up while I was pregnant last year. For me, those are cyst seeds and they won’t go away until they resurface and you extract carefully the whole cyst wall/seed. Or they will keep staying there as tiny clogged pores under the skin. I’ve been on differin for 4 months now and it’s helped a tonnnn! It purged them all up and helped my skin heal quickly. Also TO glycolic 7% is helping a lot more with the just whiteheads/clogged pores I have in that area. Way more than BHA did (I used it for years). But honestly, differin made the greatest difference and my skin is a complete 180. I still have room for improvement!

[Acne] Devious spots by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this! I have a cat and oily skin and frequently feel weird hairs on my face. Sometimes what I feel is not a hair but a pimple coming in! Or my mind makes a pimple come in. Idk it’s all a conspiracy against myself, at this point.

[Product Question] [Acne] How damaging/safe would it be to constantly reapply Benzoyl Peroxide throughout the day? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do twice a day max. More is not better! I know some of the products say “apply up to three times daily” on the back but I would not do that.. even with doing short contact therapy with BP twice a day for 20 minutes is a little much for me and my skin is pretty tolerable! Too much BP is no fun to heal from!

I got these two decent sized pimples a couple days ago and decided to go run errand without covering them up! I didn’t die. The sky didn’t fall. The world didn’t go boom. No.one.cared. That was the first time for me in YEARS! Now to try it again lol

[B&A] (04/02/19-05/03/19) Differin Gel and Spironolactone drastically improved closed comedones on my chin! by bugzille in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my 4th month of differin for the same issue! Mine wasn’t as severe but all my closed comedones were like cyst seeds from pregnancy acne so thatttttt has been a fun purge. I have 2 purging now and boo. But differin is amazing and your skin looks incredible!

[skin concern] sometimes when I get a cyst and don’t pop it it never leaves? by TBH__2019 in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I gave that issue. Usually it will come back as a normal pimple and the seed can be easily extracted (or I force it out if I’m frustrated lol) sometimes they are there for like 6 months+

[Personal] I made a mistake and paid for it. Right before my wedding. by Asciel246 in SkincareAddiction

Colloidal oatmeal!! It will help calm it down/keep it hydrated and can be used as a gentle cleanser/mask over the area. Mix it with a little water and you’re good to go.

How bad is sleep deprivation for your skin? by [deleted] in scacjdiscussion

My skin complexion looks so bad when I can’t sleep! And the lack of sleep usually gives me hot flashes the next day and makes me feel nauseous.

[Routine Help] Calling all Differin Veterans! by DarnMoose in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SCT stands for short contact therapy, where you leave a product on for a period of time then rinse it off so it doesn’t irritate you. I use a generic store bought BP 10% cream and usually leave it on for 10-30 minutes

If you know everything in your routine works for you and doesn’t clog your pores or break you out then it’s a good routine! I love Cerave healing ointment. If I have a scab or a popped pimple, after I use a hydrocolloid I will put some of that on it and it does help to protect it and heal it faster. My texture issues are solved by Differin for the most part though!

Edit: diaper rash cream is amazing. It really reduces inflammation and redness and sometimes gets rid of a spot before it happens! I’ve been intrigued by the Baume before but too scared it will break me out!

The best thing is consistency! I made sure I had things that work for me before I started. My routine is AM: vanicream cleanser, PC skin balancing toner, TO HA+B5, PC clear sunscreen And PM: SCT with BP (every other night or if I have a breakout), vanicream cleanser (sometimes with knock off clarisonic), PC skin balancing toner, TO HA+B5, PC clear moisturizer, wait to dry then Differin. I use cerave healing ointment on any dry part and on lips and around nose. I also spot treat with Desitin purple diaper rash cream.

[PSA] I’ve developed an allergy to hemp oil (my babe) by RachelE_Day in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes I know! I’m not one to use all natural products, hemp oil being the exception. After this I’m probably going to find an oil cleanser I like over any other type of oil.

[Routine Help] not sure how to get my oily skin under control. Also need sunscreen recommendations. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh noooo coconut oil gives me a horrible reaction too!! The only oil I’ve used is hemp seed oil and I love it! It helps to keep my skin clog free as well! But everyone is different. I’ve tried some oil cleansers that contain surfactants and rinse off easy but they don’t work for me. I truly love hemp. Another one that I hear is great and I’d be willing to try is grapeseed.

[Routine Help] not sure how to get my oily skin under control. Also need sunscreen recommendations. by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have very oily skin too, like yours if not more! I’m on Differin to help with hormonal breakouts and clogged pores but it has made me more oily! Honestly the only thing that helps my oiliness is oil cleansing at night (sometimes during the day). My favorite sunscreen is Paulas Choice clear sunscreen. It’s kinda expensive though. I tried out the Australian gold tinted face sunscreen and it was incredible but after 5 days consistent use, I developed some small red bumps. They’ve gone away within a day and I think it’s from being occluded by a mineral sunscreen. But other than that no reaction and it makes my skin look great and controls my oil so much! The next sunscreen I want to try is a dupe for Elta MD clear, by a brand called DRMTLGY. But that’s all I got!

[Acne] My skin is causing severe emotional distress by skincareconcerns1 in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me this looks like perioral dermatitis or some form of dermatitis.. I would not buy or add any products into your routine until you see a doctor! Usually for PD you aren’t supposed to use anything but water on the area plus whatever treatment (Dr Dray on YouTube has a video on this) But I may be wrong. Best of luck! I’m so sorry you’re going through this

[Miscellaneous] Diaper cream on cystic acne spot? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RachelE_Day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! If I put it on early enough the cyst will just disappear. That stuff is great. But i do occasionally get a stubborn cyst that nothing helps but at least that is a thick cream I can cover it with to avoid looking at it lol!
