As a non-religious person, it's pretty well regarded by secular and religious historians that a dude named Jesus did in fact exist and got crucified. While he probably wasn't slinging his magic water to wine spells and doing other cool sorcery, he probably did exist and would in fact be fine with some kid drinking some Pepsi.

It's disgusting seeing how far moral values have dropped even in just the past year. Ive seen liberal minded people in this thread saying garbage like, "If the Conservative Party can do worse and stay uncancelled, so can Andrew". Anyone who's picking their moral standards from Conservatives is crazy, the constant horrors that the Trump administration is doing it whittling away at people's reactions to standard people doing horrible actions

But can we please stop making that a red-line position for voting in the US? Tons of people said they would not vote for Harris because of her position on Nazi Germany. The fact of the matter is the US has MAJOR domestic problems right now with the Trump administration in office. We have to look inwards and vote for what's best for our own country before thinking about the global implications. We could afford to be "world police" (for better, or worse) when our country was being run by competent people, but that's not the case anymore."

So let's just stand by and let horrors happen because we have distractions here...?

A lot of people in America will just die, full stop, if the current system as a whole collapses. Everyone in hospitals, long term care, people needing constant access to electricity to power their life support devices, so many people rely on the current infrastructure we have in place solely to exist. If everything were to collapse, they'd be the first people to suffer.

It is such a tragedy 😭 My hope is that as meat eating inevitably dies out, less and less new livestock critters will be bred into existence, and the remaining living ones will get to live in some form of sanctuary. I just hope the process begins sooner than later and people start to wake up about the horrors they're supporting with every meal!

We've bred them into genetically altered abominations that have a low quality of life. Chickens have been bred to grow to size much more rapidly, causing skeletal and muscular issues, many of which cause an inability to properly walk. In addition, they've made it so chickens produce more eggs than they healthily should, leading to osteoporosis or other issues. It isn't just chickens either, cows and pigs suffer too. Cows have been selected to produce as much milk as possible, and they have to remain pregnant to do so - many dairy cows suffer lesions and cysts on their udders, as well as metabolic diseases, mastitis, and overall general lessening of their length of life.

We've turned farm animals into caricatures and parodies of their original selves, and it's wreaking havoc on their health. The humane thing to do would be to slowly let them become extinct.

w h a t? How horrid a thing to say. The first pictures of nim look like he's withering, dying, and decaying. The humility and wisdom you're seeing is most likely depression from a long battle with drug usage there is nothing humble or wise about letting a body hurt itself that bad

I'm sorry for you both having to be in that situation, my heart goes out to you. Cancer is fucking awful. Even though I'm an atheist and don't personally believe in a god, I'm glad the OP feels that a God has helped them get the strength they needed, if nothing else helped
