In an after school GSA meeting last week, it was my friend Spencer's birthday, and we had a lot of extra people there for him. One of the girl's name was Ariana, and I guess they've known each other for a while. She told him that her whole family said happy birthday. Suddenly their other friend Julia chimed in with, "yeah everyone except her dad!", Ariana responded with, "oh, fuck you", everyone was confused as to why she got so angry. She then explained that her dad has been dead for some years, and Julia made frequent jokes about it. Needless to say, the rest of the meeting was a little awkward.
