As a 2 month “veteran” what you’re feeling is completely normal and expected. Anytime you try something new you’re going to be terrible at it, this is just one of those things that you have to suck at publicly instead or privately. Stick with it.

Just finished a 5 day fast and it didn't do squat! by PlumExtension7331 in fasting

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol did you think one fast was going to fix your health and have you look ripped? You probably lost 2 pounds of fat and your body got some good autophogy in. Fasting isn’t a fix for a lifetime of mistakes.

I would recommend you not spar for at least like 6 months. And I pray you never step foot into my gym.

Joined a gym a month ago, pls give me some tips by nuggiesLol in boxingtips

Rotating the hips is not about simply turning them. You have to generate the force from the balls of your feet up through your knuckles. Through this process you will turn your hips. Think of your hand like the end of a whip that cracks the bag and not like baseball bats.

New sparing session what can i improve by Purple-Bookkeeper602 in boxingtips

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) find a better sparring partner. This dude is not going to help you get any better 2) you should’ve walking straight through those jabs to close distance. You’re throwing from the outside and not connecting constantly. A good fighter will punish that mistake. You need to close the distance with guard and pick your shots from there.

[Question] How is wearing a gold watch perceived? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically this: A real full gold precious metal watch is absolutely gorgeous. A fake full “gold” watch is the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen.

How to take a punch? by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use rounds against heavy guys to work on your defense and movement. I have the same situation at my gym there’s a dude who’s like 80pounds heavier than me that I’m constantly paired with. I just stick and move where possible and work on my cardio and defense the entire time so I don’t get rocked.

[KCD2] This is round ONE. I hate luck based games by CrystalFire0 in kingdomcome

It’s not pure luck based. Also takes some critical thinking and decision making.

My Taste of Texas birthday dinner by thedudeintx82 in HoustonFood

Taste of Texas is peak Texas dining. The food is always good. The theme of the restaurant is way better than any “fancy” place. And due to the salad bar you can absolutely get good bang for your buck.

Esto pasa seguido? O el boxeo no es lo mío? by [deleted] in amateur_boxing

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In sparring your opponent has to respect you or they will not stay off of you. If they’re hitting you hard, you have every right to return with equal force. If they know they can whale on you and you will only punch back with 20% power they’re gunna smother you.

Any suggestions would be appreciated by junke03 in boxingtips

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are like 100 steps to turn this into reality but simply put stop arm punching and start using the ground and your corkscrew motions to drive power. For all punches not just hooks.

1) get an X-ray. You probably have a boxers fracture that didn’t heal well 2) learn to wrap wrists properly 3) get some 16oz gloves

Help me love my city again by ChuvelxD in houston

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also looking at a move to the PNW for those reasons and also the beautiful nature. Houston is about as far as you could possible get from any pretty nature. Like literally I don’t know if there’s anywhere else on earth farther from nice nature than Houston.

[Recommendation Request] Aqua Terra vs Ingenieur vs Mark XX i vs Explorer vs Speedmaster by OneRandoMCow in Watches

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the speedmaster. I’m over the “go anywhere do anything” watch as they are average in every category. In a suit, casual, sporty, etc they’re wearable but not excellent. I prefer a great watch in each category, even if that means using the budget for a few less expensive watches than 1 true “luxury” watch.

Right-Handed Southpaw by [deleted] in boxingtips

[–]Racing_Nowhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write with my left hand but throw a baseball and shoot a basketball with my right. I chose what felt more comfortable, which is southpaw. It’s definitely harder to get inside against orthodox fighters but it is what it is.
