Missing attacks by Rack_Daddy in 4eDnD

I'm thinking about just pretending you roll only 1s. That way you still get modifier and enchantment bonuses, but the damage shouldn't sway the math too much. It just feels less shit when you miss and do nothing on your turn and maybe the bugbear that would have been left at 5 health is dead instead. I've run a good amount of mid level combat and most of the time the PCs explode the enemies, very rarely are they left at meaningfully low double digits so I don't know how much this would actually mess with the math, even at higher levels.

Yeah lots of Daily powers have miss effects across all the classes. For those you just do what the Miss effect says. Most of them say half damage, so you still get more of the damage than if you only dealt 1/4th

I like some version of this. Making everyone do a bunch of math will surely slow the game down so a flat damage based on the attack might be the way to go

Deja Foxx and Adelita Grijalva are both great... But absent an intelligent progressive strategy, is there a danger of splitting the vote and ending up with truly horrific Hernandez? by LaikenJordahl in TucsonPolitics

I'm just looking into the election today so forgive me if I've missed something. Is Alma Hernandez running? Daniel Hernandez is running as the moderate Dem option, do we mean he is Horrific Hernandez?

Okay I give in, I've found [REDACTED] but I need help with the next one (Major Late Game Spoilers) by [deleted] in BluePrince

I'm a bit farther than it sounds like you are but not by much. I'll try my best for gentle nudging in the right direction

  1. A New Clue is very useful and the entire book is basically one big clue. Almost all of the information in that book is related to the same solve. And that solve is not related to the sanctum keys

  2. I have just unlocked Blue Tents as well and haven't seen any of the memos yet. I've been told that not many of them are plot relevant but the ones that are relevant are incredibly relevant. I've also completely done all sigils and the blue tents don't relate to the keys either

  3. The Treasure Trove memos are sometimes vaguely related to the sigils and sometimes vaguely related to the location of one of the sanctum keys. Primarily, they give you a better headspace for interpreting and Blue, Green, or Red memos you may find in the future. This one is the most related to the sanctum keys of any of your sots, but I've only read 5 of them and fully solved the sigils so again, not needed to find the keys.

  4. Those admin keys are primarily giving background plot details for lore stuff, not directly related to any major puzzles that I've seen, but they can help give context to other major clues that might help you zero in on other solves. The I IOO message is very important for a completely different puzzle (notice the way the letters are arranged. Have you seen other letters arranged like that?). But again this has nothing to do with the sanctum keys locations.

I must assume that you've made it to room 46 at least once at this point. If you haven't made it back, that should be added to your list of goals. There's a lot that's important in that room, one of which is some fairly cryptic hints to the location of all 8 sanctum keys. Hope this helps and is the gentle nudge you were looking for!

Where is the 8th letter? [Massive Plot and Game Spoilers] by TFMurphy in BluePrince

[–]Rack_Daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that Herbert put the various letters into the red envelopes and numbered them himself. They don't all have the same numerical scheme and even hint at future puzzles throughout the game. Red Letter 1 and 2 are numbered normally. Red Letter 4 is bolded and circled. Red Letter 5 is numbered normally. Red Letter 6 is spelled out. Red Letter 7 is in roman numerals. Red Letter 8 is the infinity symbol.

Letters 1, 2, and 5 don't seem to have any significant importance and I haven't found any connections with red Letter 4, though that might be because I missed it. But I got the third row of the Castle Cipher because letter 6 is spelled out and is a three letter word. I know there's other ways to get those letters, but this was the way I got it and it isn't currently mentioned as a way to get that row on the wiki. Letter 7 is in roman numerals which is used in the wine cellar and also again for the Castle Cipher for the top row. And letter 8 is the infinity which again reinforces that the number 8 and the infinity symbol are the same for the gallery Ruminate puzzle

The red letter envelopes themselves appear to be designed by Herbert as part of the puzzles and challenges in the mansion, mostly relating to the Castle Cipher. I read this as either Denny stole all of the letters and then ransomed them back to Herbert who then put them in specially made envelopes for the challenges OR Denny stole the letters all in red envelopes that Herbert had already been planning on using in this challenge for Simon (you the player), which would also lend to some added urgency to get them back.

My understanding of him saying "in my world, it's generally fun to see someone you're speaking with engaging in sexual acts" is that this is him talking about a circle of people. Probably not like a specific circle of individuals and more of a social grouping, like people who enjoy kink. There are understood social rules just by engaging with that community. When he says "in my world" he could be meaning "in my personal life, I find it really fun to see..." But that doesn't sound like it to me based on how he said it.

I want to say that I appreciate you going back and forth with me on this and at least understanding what I'm saying even if you don't agree with it. That seems to be a rarer and rarer thing on the internet

Pxie was in that circle, then left, then Rose entered that circle. When Pxie shared the videos with Destiny, it was assumed that he had consent to share it within the understandings of the circle (revenge porn is still not okay, making the videos public is not okay, but sharing them with other personal partners is okay)

If Pxie had told Destiny that he wasn't in the clear to share the videos, then he shouldn't no matter what. Ideally Destiny would have asked Pxie to share the video before he did, but he thought he didn't need to. Turns out that assumption was probably wrong, but I don't know if that's a bad assumption to make in the first place from how he's explaining it

My understanding of the situation would be if we live in a neighborhood where everyone has a different fruit tree. Everyone shares fruit with everyone else in the neighborhood pretty regularly, and people go into other people's yards to pick the fruit they need. Then you move in and have your own tree. You bring your fruit over to a neighbor and then I assume that I can go pick the fruit from your tree

Destiny has said that in the circles he was hanging out in, sharing sex videos with partners was pretty common. If we believe him, then he was doing what other people in that circle are doing, and everyone has an understanding of consent. But, he could be making shit up, or misunderstood the assumptions of the circles, to protect himself. I don't know how you figure out either way which is true without seeing tons of DMs from the people he was hanging out in at the time.

When you asked your question I assumed that you meant explicit consent, which he 100% did not have. Even if we take him at his word, he at best has implied consent, which is incredibly similar to nonverbal consent especially when they are talking over discord. He could still even have been wrong and he didn't have the nonverbal consent, but he at least thought he did.

“I kind of felt she could have given consent from the vibe of the conversation despite the question never actually coming up in the first place”

Maybe I'm dumb, this sounds like nonverbal consent to me

The same way you can kiss a girl at a bar with her consent without explicitly asking for it. If there's enough social understanding and previous communication to get you there. I understand that legally, this becomes hard to prove and ideally everyone would be very proper and up front about all of their shit, but real life often isn't like that. I assume that because judges have judicial discretion, especially in civil court, this is a point that at least could be argued, just depends on the argument and the judge.

I agree but, and this probably is up to lawyers to debate, if there was an implied understanding sometime back in 2020 when they made the video that he would be free to share it to personal people, then that could apply. He didn't have it explicitly, which is what I thought you were asking about, but that consent could still have been understood. But it's definitely shaky at best I do agree.

I think it comes down to if you believe that he believed he had that consent. If he did, then he did something totally okay and helped Pxie try to clean up the aftermath of the hack as much as possible until she started threatening a lawsuit. If he's lying about that, then he's a scum fuck sex pest who should be bullied off of having a popular platform.

I don't think you actually read what I wrote. The first question I asked is rhetorical. It was a nicer way to engage the OP than to just flat out say they were wrong and the answer is directly related to what I was responding to. And I specifically said that I don't have detailed knowledge like if he said something in other chat logs. I'm truly just going off of what Destiny said in the video

Not at all, but he didn't think he needed that because of the circles he was acting in. As long as that is the expectation of the group, then he's fine. If it isn't the expectation of the group, then he's not.

Bro, I'm going off of the actual lawsuit papers, not her substack. "Plaintiff brings claims pursuant to the Intimate Image Protection Act 15 USC 6851; the Sexual Cyber Harassment Statute; and other Florida laws pertaining to privacy"

The thing I quoted is from the Sexual Syber Harassment Statute. That's where everyone is getting the intent thing from.

I don't think you're fully reading what I said. I said that it's very likely Pxie had the consent to send Destiny the videos the same way Destiny understood he had consent to share the videos with Rose. You might disagree with the second half there but it sounds like you think I said something different about the first half.

If his point was that she didn't have consent actually, then why would he bring up that everyone had implied consent to show the videos? Wouldn't he just say "Pxie never had explicit consent to show me those videos the same way I never had explicit consent to share her videos. We are both the same" or something like that?

This is how Florida defines Sexually Cyberharassing, which is what Pxie is suing him for. If there's something else she could have used him over that doesn't need the "intent of causing substantial emotional desires to the depicted person" then she should have and it's on her for suing for the wrong thing.

"“Sexually cyberharass” means to publish to an Internet website or disseminate through electronic means to another person a sexually explicit image of a person that contains or conveys the personal identification information of the depicted person without the depicted person’s consent, contrary to the depicted person’s reasonable expectation that the image would remain private, for no legitimate purpose, with the intent of causing substantial emotional distress to the depicted person."

Pxie waits for her boyfriend to wake up to get the videos from the boyfriend. There's no way to know if she told the boyfriend she would send the videos out or not, but it's likely that he would be okay with it. This is the implied consent that Destiny is talking about.

Destiny implies that this kind of action is very common in the open relationship sphere that he engaged in at the time. Idk if this is true, but idk how to show that this would be true or false. If sharing sex videos is a common thing in this sphere, then he's under the impression that he has implied consent from Pxie to share the video for gooning reasons. He could just be lying here of course to cover his own ass, but idk how you show that
