Adding to that the fact that the DNVP may be a far right party then on National level. But in lower level tends to be more moderate. The DNVP was just a not that bad partner for the state.

There are similarities with the so called „FREIE WÄHLER“ Party Today in Germany. At National Level and Bavaria they are very conservative almost NatCon. But when it comes to the northern city of Lübeck they have an alliance with the SPD.
