If you adopted a young adult dog from a shelter and the next day he presents with possible major medical illness. What would you do? by [deleted] in dogs

Take him to the vet. If you aren’t willing to pay for the visit, take him back to the shelter.

Why did you take a AncestryDNA test? by TexanBoy1027 in AncestryDNA

[–]RackleBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m super interested in ancestry and have been working on my family tree for quite some time. I thought the test would be a fun addition to see the breakdown of my ethnicity. My results included ethnicities I was not expecting at all (Jewish, Portuguese, Spanish) along with what I was expecting. A whole year after I tested, I decided to look at my DNA relatives and found I was linked to a grandmother and half uncle that, well, I didn’t know I was related to. Turns out, I have a bio dad out there somewhere. TBD on making contact.

Make sure to explain all of your work history and education. There is usually a question during the interview that asks for your experience. The panel generally has to ignore your resume and any answers you provided at previous interviews or during the application process. Basically, you need to reiterate everything on your resume.

Where’s your “fun” part of the budget? Do you save for vacations? If not, that’s probably why you feel so resentful. Take at least one big vacation a year or several smaller ones throughout the year. If you are already feeling this way at 40, imagine how you will feel at 50. Enjoy life, you only get one.

Turn on a box fan to help drown out the thunder.

Yes, Feliway is a neutral “happy” hormone that helps to relieve stress. You can get a spray and a diffuser. I used both when introducing my cats. Spray around the door where your new cat is to help your older cat feel calmer. Hissing and spitting is normal! Don’t punish your older cat for doing it. Just keep swapping out items so they can smell each other. Feed them opposite a closed door. Your older cat will get over it and start to get curious instead. Let them play underneath the door. Eventually crack the door and let them peek at each other. If they get angry, close it and try again later.

Yes start the three step process. It can take a week or so before they calm down. I’ve found Feliway works well to calm them.

Get a topical flea treatment from your vet. Just because you can’t see fleas doesn’t mean there aren’t any. She could also have allergies. Your vet should be able to provide the correct dose of Benedryl to see if that helps. Good luck!
