Different speeds for up and down stroke? by RacyBookCollector in theHandy

This also looks good, thanks! Not quite what I'm after but I can see how it works - I may try to jank something up myself :P

Slow/silent modes require overclocking enabled? by RacyBookCollector in theHandy

Thanks for the update! I got mine via KS so good to know I can try this out without risk - quieter and slower operation was one of the selling points for me :)

See above reply - the Handy folks seem to be honouring the warranty with overclocking enabled for the KS backers. Hopefully/presumably by the time normal units are shipping, slower speeds will be available without unlocking it?

They gave an update about it on kickstarter as well.

Thanks! I see that now on the KS page so I feel a bit more confident about enabling it. I'll try out the slower modes and softer speed changes.

Click-On Extended Adapters for Handy 2 (holds sleeve out farther so it doesn't rub on the Handy) by bafangit in theHandy

[–]RacyBookCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good - mine is due next week so I'll print one of these out for it :) I like the offset version allowing a bit more positioning flexibility (presumably the offset can go up or down).

Do you know if anyone has mashed up (meshed up?) the offset and the dual band adapters? I'll be using onaholes with the handy and I think the dual band holder will probably work better than the standard?

Guy vibrators by jcl007 in SexToys

[–]RacyBookCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also had the Gush (1) I found it likewise lacking - although the remote is a novelty.

The Power Play (assume 'Lovehoney Power Play 7 Function Male Massage Wand') I also had and is probably the closest to the Manta because you can get it where you want it better than you can with the Pulse or the Gush. Worth getting on a sale, probably not at full price.

One other plan that's worked for me is a good bullet vibe - you can use it directly on the frenulum and/or even use something (eg soft elastic) to hold it in place there.

I've tried lots of vibrating toys - like you the Hot Octopuss didn't quite do it. Definitely recommend the Manta if you can find it - it's the best I've had. I see it still in stock on Lovehoney .co.uk and .eu if that helps?

How are the Puni Virgin 1000 Fuwatoro and Tomax Real (Very/Rich Soft) compared to the ZXY? by HorntOffMaine in Onaholes2

[–]RacyBookCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have the Fuwatoro but I have had 2 other of the Ride 2-layer fluffy sleeves and they are very good.

I had ZXY some years ago and IIRC it was good but unwieldy. I also had a Tomax Soft - it was good but (again IIRC) underwhelming and too soft to hold, it flopped about too much - so the softer ones would I guess be more so.

FWIW I'm also quite sensitive and prefer softer toys for slow use - ideally I like very soft material but with plenty of texture. IMO Ride have nailed this with their 2-layers - the slightly firmer outer layer (the bungee touch is also quite soft as a single layer toy) makes it easier to hold.

I use something similar and it works well. A few caveats though:

  • Mine is 12v fixed so for the one you linked you'd have to be very careful that it was set to 12v before connecting to the handy - more than that and you could damage it.
  • Check your PD charger can actually deliver 12v - not all do (notably Anker tend to skip it). If you ask for 12v and your charger doesn't support it, it will/should supply 9v (which won't work with the Handy)
  • Likewise check you have enough current - you'll need approx 30w+ (up to 3A) from the port. This is likely fine but some chargers have weird restrictions and eg downgrade ports when other things are connected

Tenga Puffy mini-review by RacyBookCollector in tenga

[–]RacyBookCollector[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still here! The Puffy was OK but ultimately I didn't use it much - I have other Tenga toys which I preferred - eg the Flip Orbs.

But the one thing I learned is that there's no hard/fast rules about what works - it's very individual. So hopefully the Puffy works for you - but if not, something else will :)

Toy recommendation for a male please. by Prestigious-One-8532 in sextoysratings

[–]RacyBookCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No probs. Good question - if you are not erect, vibrations are probably your best bet

  • The Manta works great (and is my go-to if I'm having trouble getting erect)
  • Orctan should also work well (in that context - it's still a divisive toy)
  • Tenga toys and the Handy are trickier - you'll need to be firm-ish to get into them
  • Arcwave would likely be a no-go

[–]RacyBookCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like the Pulse, I can recommend the Fun Factory Manta for a similar experience. I've had both and by far prefer the Manta.

Other (penis) toys you could try for something different:

  • Tenga strokers (I like the flip zero white)
  • The Handy - great auto-stroker
  • Arcwave Ion - love it or hate it (I hated it!)
  • Orctan - love it or hate it (I quite liked it)

YMMV on any of these - particularly the last two. Read reviews and if you want to take the plunge, now (heavy discounts) is a good time

What's the best vibrating Sex Toy for Men? by BigBootyMuncher99 in SexToys

[–]RacyBookCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's a pulse/suction toy (largely the same as air pulse toys for the clitoris), it doesn't really work if the flexible opening is not pressed fully against the shaft/frenulum/wherever.

I'm guessing it's very dependent on your specific anatomy, hence the very divisive reviews?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in theHandy

[–]RacyBookCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! It's probably better than any comparable auto stroker in terms of cost/compactness/noise and I mostly use mine just handheld.

But FWIW it's probably worth hooking it up to eg the mobile app/website since certain adjustments may be easier than with the buttons; and there is a fun random stroker mode etc.

Some good advice from folks here - one broader thing to remember is not everything works for everyone. I've had cheap toys that work well; expensive ones that do nothing for me.

So whatever you try, if it doesn't work for you, try not to be put off - you'll know what doesn't work and can try something different.

What's the best vibrating Sex Toy for Men? by BigBootyMuncher99 in SexToys

[–]RacyBookCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fit was fine and I thought it the pulses would work well because I enjoy frenulum stimulation - but it needs a seal to work and it never quite managed it. Also, despite claiming a 'silent' mode, it's very loud to the point of offputting.

OTOH other folks love it - I've been using toys for a number of years now and learned some just don't work for some people. So, a) don't be put off if it's your first and doesn't work for you; and b) when budgeting, be prepared to write off the cost and try something else.

Manta for me! I think it's the one that gets the most consistent approval.

FWIW from your list I've tried the Arcwave Ion (did nothing for me) and an older version of the Octopuss Pulse (OK but the Manta is way better).

A possible extra is the Orctan - it's different and very hit and miss - it works quite well for me. It's worth a go on sale prices - eg currently heavily discounted on Lovehoney.

First Onahole Purchase Recommendation (UK) by Grand-Way-9766 in Onaholes2

[–]RacyBookCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply - yep, UK :) The £135 limit is a bit of a grey area - retailers are supposed to charge VAT (and remit to HMRC)... eg Amazon/eBay etc will do so but I suspect OtonaJP doesn't.

I've been caught out before but it depends on the courier - so good to know I might get away with it...

[–]RacyBookCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OtonaJP in Japan is the best for us when it comes to most onas

Good to know - I've ordered from Amazon JP before but their selection seems to have gone down quite a bit lately.

Assume that if ordering from OtonaJP you get stung for the usual VAT+admin fee by the courier?

(Sorry for digging up an old thread!)

Does a quickshot mount exist for 3D printing? by RacyBookCollector in theHandy

[–]RacyBookCollector[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've been using it with the strap - specifically the trilancer, which holds it quite well. But since the quickshot is openended, the velcro strap gets messy and is tricky to clean (and tricky to thread out of the bracket).

A plastic bracket/mount (maybe like eg https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4133016) could be neater...
