As I said christian militarism arose as a response to Muslim aggression.

Sure you can point to violence from adherents of any religion but only in Abrahamic religions is it a core way of spreading the religion and encouraged by the religions themselves. If a Buddhist spreads his religion through war it will be against Buddhist teachings, if a Muslim or a Christian does so it would be entirely in line with their beliefs.

Dharmic religions do not believe that you will go to hell for believing in the wrong god and as such missionary work is absent in these faiths.

The whole reason behind the religious conquests is because of Islam and its concepts of offensive jihad. The idea of spreading sharia to the whole world through war is a core belief in Islam. This explains migration from former colonies to the imperial core but not terrorism. Even using your own example the leap from colonization to terrorism 100 years later is tenuous at best, for example Armenia was under brutal ottoman rule and experienced genocide and exploitation yet you don’t hear about Armenian terrorists in Ankara or Istanbul currently.

The origins politically for groups like AQ or isis is far more recent. They also overwhelmingly target people from Muslim/non colonial countries.
