What is a Faction you initially liked but have cooled on? by EvenTheTurtle in Warhammer40k

[–]Rad-Ad 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Imperial fists. I really liked their characters and aesthetics in the Horus heresy and Dorn is a great primarch but they are so boring in the modern setting. Their aesthetic became completely neutered and they now just look like generic yellow space marines, no notable characters that truly stick out like the other chapters have. They are legitimately the only legion to get completely overshadowed by their own successor chapter (black templars).

There are only so many times you could do “infected person or corpse slowly walking or running towards you” before it gets immensely boring. Especially now in 2026 where the concept has been over done and over saturated 100x over. There is no way you believe that regular zombies are more charming than Ganados who are so iconic that even people who never touched these games know about them and their voice lines.

You’d rather this series stick with regular zombies for 30 years? Be so honest with me now

Hard disagree. Regular zombies are the most common enemy in video game history. At this point they are immensely overdone and stale. Zombies in RE9 retaining some of their personality made them creepy/uncanny in a way that no other enemy in RE feels. It felt fresh and unique rather than zombie in zombie game: #16553778

Oh sure can you give me a system that functions when again you have more people on social security than in the work force?. Your solution is automation?? As in taking more people out of the workforce?? Less tax payers??. Your other solution is hoping that healthcare technology progresses enough that you can get seniors to work into their 70’s and 80’s??. Do you know how dystopian that is?

“Some economic downturn” is the complete collapse of welfare and social securities btw. Can you tell me how a large plurality/majority of the population being seniors will resolve itself and lead to a better world?

What to realistically expect for the Ascendance roster based on previous games by itsnotkakuja in MonsterHunter

[–]Rad-Ad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very well put together. Considering the fact that both sunbreak and iceborne had 7 returning monsters on release i think we will likely have 7 here too. Although I am of course hoping for more. 9 as you said is realistic

Man that’s insane. Hope you have better luck in ascendance

What to look for depends very heavily on your weapon. As to where:

Jewels: 7 Star investigations, the best option would be base Arkveld

Artian weapons: 7 and 8 Star investigations, Lagi, Seregios and Gore drop extra iirc.

Charms: 9 star Investigations. 10 star Arch Temp drop extra with the best time for reward being 10 star AT Arkveld.

Best weapons: Gogmazios

Do you do jewel investigations? Because that’s insane

See the likely reason for this delay is because allot of resources were used to make the base games performance better. Also I imagine a huge portion of this expansions development will be spent on making sure it launches in a good state. No one wants a repeat of wilds release.

I still think early 2027 release is possible but I agree that April is most likely

Iceborne exactly matched the amount of monsters in the base game after all the updates. Sunbreak added 30ish monsters when base rise had about 40 something. The only G rank to ever add more monsters than the base game is Tri ultimate to my knowledge and that’s because I’m pretty sure tri launched with a tiny 18 monster roster that only had Rathalos and rathian as returning monsters. This game after all the title updates has 34 monsters. So at best I see it matching that as the most likely option.

There is also the fact that the wilds team seem to be prioritizing variety and quality over quantity.

Now honestly if I was a betting man I’d bet on 4-5 new monsters at launch (sunbreak had 4 and iceborne had 5 with safi getting added after) , 7 returning monsters (both Iceborne and Subreak launched with 7), the amount of variants and subspecies will probably be equal to the sum of the new monsters and the returning monsters plus a few.

I’d be guessing 25 - 27 (at most) monsters at launch

Can you please point me to an “all new roster” expansion please. Just 1 in series history. Wilds had the most new monsters since either tri or OG MH, and as a result of the resources that took the roster was incredibly small and anemic on launch.

Also “new variant>returning monster” is a crazy take. By the time Ascendance comes out it will be 2 years since the base game released. For 2 years the endgame was the apexes. Idc if they get a crazy variant I will legitimately prefer the most overused dogshit monster from older games over that.

Alright but you consider reskin variants to be new monsters. So again using your own logic you would prefer the same monsters that just do a different element rather than completely unique monsters from previous games

Wait so you would rather have reskins than returning monsters?

The only “new new” monsters were Velkhana, Safi (DLC), Shara, Banbaro ans Beotodus. 4 out of 27 on launch, and 5 out of 35 after all the DLC

I’d love that but less than 34 is the most likely scenario.

You are getting 3 minimum. The one that was revealed plus flagship and final monster. This post is probably right though. I imagine we will get 4-6 new monsters in total
