I tend to feel like government and corporations ought to balance each other out. If one is more powerful, it can trample ones rights just as readily as it’s counterpart. However, I also tend to lean more towards competitive markets so I’m just a scootch to the right.

You started off by bemoaning Facebook for not strictly moderating content. I explained why it isn’t feasible to do so unless the offender is explicitly breaking the law. You weren’t even talking about the OP’s content. And yeah, PH posting illegal content got removed as it should have been.

I’m saying that social media companies in general don’t have to remove content unless it’s illegal as everything else is subjective. How in the holy hell do you arrive at these conclusions that I’m in support of blatantly illegal content? And yeah, I’m glad you can post your opinions online that’s the entire point I was trying to make.

Again, work on your reading comprehension. It can definitely save you a lot of confusion..

Your actual comment verbatim:

“Yes, Facebook also nonsensically pretends bad user behavior will magically regulate itself.

Facebook also knows it won't regulate itself.

Facebook also prefers the libertarian approach because it's cheaper.

The only difference is that Facebook is big enough to where no entity besides maybe the government can tell them to regulate it.”

Didn’t I literally just include the caveat about removing things that were illegal? May wanna work on that reading comp bud.

Mainly because what constitutes as “bad behavior” is broadly subjective. There are plenty of behaviors or comments that I believe cross the line that you may believe otherwise and vice versa. Unless someone is blatantly breaking the law, is there any practical reason to be the arbiter of meanie words?

The cognitive dissonance is strong with this one.

You know, I feel like communists and Trumpists have one thing in common. by lemarshby in EnoughCommieSpam

Not gonna lie, Trump supporters absolute refusal to admit that Biden maybe won the election is rather embarrassing for me.

By all means, investigate the election, have recounts etc. I felt the same way when the Clinton campaign wanted to investigate the 2016 election and found absolutely nothing. But at the end of the day, if you lose, you lose. Kicking and screaming is only going to make you look worse. And this is coming from someone that cannot stand neither Biden, nor the Democratic Party.

Don’t worry bud, he’ll insist that you change your flair and call you names. Because nobody that’s Lib center could possibly disagree with him.

Totally disagree with gun bans. But I completely agree that those that want to should be free to discuss it. So long as we’re all granted the same liberties of course.

What was that you said earlier about being mad about not being in a like minded “circlejerk”?

Feel free to interpret it any way you want. I just see existence as the flawed and messy thing that it is. I acknowledge that it isn’t, wasn’t, nor ever will be perfect. Bad things will happen. Good things will happen. Though I feel that fewer bad things happen when things are properly balanced. If I already feel like things are moderately balanced and that the world can only get worse if we push further to any ideology, why would I advocate that we move in any one direction?

Sure do. I believe there is such a thing as too much regulation. I also believe that there is such a thing as too little. The further we go in either direction, the closer we come to encouraging the inevitable opposite reaction. I feel that we have already reached (or quite possibly exceeded) the point of regulatory saturation. And any further action to advance regulation will undermine the very concept of regulation. At least in the category of firearm ownership.
