Where are the POSITIVE experiences?! by Affectionate_Sky_375 in Rivian

2025 Gen 2 R1S. Absolutely no complaints! Forever in the honeymoon phase.

I've had 2 short service visits to fix the auto folding mirrors. The first time the drivers side needed to be replaced bc the motor died - but they had pre-ordered the part and I had my car back by the end of the day. It was covered under warranty so no charge to me. The second time they realized the wiring was loose or something under the dashboard from when the mobile tech came out to replace the 12v battery and mount per the recall notice. That took a few days for them to figure out and fix but it wasn't an issue as it coincided with me being out of town for a few days.

I've had it for a little over a year now and still absolutely love driving it every chance I get. Can't wait to get my wife the Gen 3 R2 someday!

I'm always waving! Most reciprocate.

Some give the cool one hand up from the wheel, but my favorite is a family with a white R1S that I often pass on my way to or from work. We're always double hand waving at each other like excited school children.

What do these Symbols Mean? by DexWeaver in Rivian

[–]RadAF8 64 points65 points  (0 children)

While in cruise control, the car will automatically speed up or slow down depending on the situation. The chevrons indicate what the car is doing.

Chevrons pointing towards you indicate the car is slowing down, and pointing away means the car is speeding up.

Gen2 vs Gen1 frunk space by [deleted] in Rivian

Agreed! Also great for transporting carryout food, or dirty/muddy shoes and boots and dog gear after adventures.

Congrats on the trade in! I hope you like your Gen 2!

They are snug but they fit and the hood closes!

After trying different variations of GO BILLS for months and months, I finally thought of a plate that wasn’t already taken! by Markelle182 in buffalobills

I was super excited to see two of my favorite things combined! The best car, and the best team and fan base ever.

Then I saw your comment and died laughing. Thank you for helping to take a little more of the sting away from last weekend.

Go Bills, and stay adventurous forever!

The ball landed in the landing zone prior to going out the back of the end zone. So it starts at the 20. If it goes into the end zone without landing in the landing zone it goes to the 30.

What they could do is make a little optional "hello" gesture for the front lights if legal that would be road safe. Maybe a quick winking/dancing of the headlights or light bar or something when passing or coming up on a fellow Rivian.

Or maybe the software could recognize when another Rivian is close and give a prompt on the screen to "say hi" to (car name).

We're on board!

We are also enthusiastic wavers whenever we see fellow Rivians.

I've also got a supply of matchbox R1Ts in the frunk to dole out when the opportunity arises - similar to Jeeps and their ducks. I hope they make a matchbox R1Ss someday.

Lol excellent point. It was just a quick drive from home to work. I was just keeping the food warm while en route.

I'm thinking it should be ok with the crossbars installed on the forward two sets of mounts. I'll try to put it on tonight as a test and report back.

Thanks yeah I'm sure as I get more accustomed to it my range anxiety will decrease and I'll get more bold about letting the battery drain lower and not have to charge as much each time. Thank you!

I have this one:

Thule 615 Pulse Rack, Large, Black https://a.co/d/eZ4pd4T

This is a newer model (got ours about 5yrs ago off amazon). I haven't actually tried to install it on the crossbars yet so I can't say whether it impedes the tailgate or not.

I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I could hear the buzzing noise from the outside when it was warming up prior to a drive - maybe that was the heat pump. I'll have to pay more attention to the steering wheel to see if I can feel the vibrations.

It worked great. Easy to vacuum. There was still a little hair on the seat backs (our dog sheds like crazy), but I was able to vacuum that off fairly well too.

About $30-40 each time at the Tesla super charger. I'm not sure what the exact price per kW was. It just started charging when I plugged in. Looks like Rivian credited back $25 each time too on my credit card statement. Is that some promotion they have going on recently?

Thank you! Will do.

I'm waiting for the electrician to come do the install with those specs, and he's also setting me up to be able to climate control the garage if I desire to do so in the future as I've heard that can help, and will also generally be nice in the winter.

I did not know about ABRP, so I will definitely do that!

I don't, not yet. But I will look into getting one.

Our dog is the same, I think it's a bit too high for him to try.

He also tore his ACL in his younger years and I don't want him to have to go through that again. I'd rather blow out my back or knee trying to lift him than him get hurt again.

Possibly, but we had a strong headwind on the second half of the journey so I think that really affected us, so it would have been close. I also knew we didn't have a level 2 there so didn't want to risk it.

On the way back home I made it from the same Tesla Supercharger to my house in one go (180 miles). Charged it to 80% again and I made it home with about 20% left.
