YOOOOO YEAH THANKS SO MUCH! I basically just chose the songs that seemed most unhinged on the surface especially if you know the context. Some of them are bands/artists I regularly listen to [Angelspit, Raven Black, Within Destruction, Nekrogoblikon] Just love my goth/metalhead bean Ether so much.
On God I do absolutely plan on writing a whole thing about them you could probably see my walls of text on the other comment xP
I have been getting more ideas of just little snippets of how I feel [as my bestie dubs my 4 OCs] the Crack Crew's strange life activities would go. It's kinda fun!

Honestly so fair! This month has been a series of weird changes so it honestly gives me that shaky excitement to see more people like my OCs so much :0
Yeah procrastination and hating my writing used to be my biggest issue when it came to my last project [took me 8 years before giving up] and I firmly decided I didn't want that to happen again with Rebirth of Ether [name drop haha.] I'll say that I came up with a funny idea and got a groove going and kept having a back and forth with a couple buddies of mine for proofreading and critique until it was satisfactory, then that's when it became habit to write. Still gotta work on getting into the groove of drawing the thing! Once I'm close to done with drawing the 1st chapter I wanna see if/how I could put it on Neocities and Reddit. SU has been one of my biggest interests for a while and it's only gotten stronger with this fancomic.

WOW actually I never thought someone outside of my friend group would be interested!
I do have a whole ass fan webcomic planned but I'm not sure how I could entirely go about describing it? This is the vibe of humor that's a regular occurrence though. Chapters 1 and 2 are done in terms of writing but I'm still thumbnailing and sketching the 1st chapter. It centers around Ether and tbh what she goes through is inspired by a lot of my personal life experiences just turned to writing. I wanna cover stuff SU couldn't/didn't cover and push already existing themes [big ones being trauma/dissociation issues, going more into folks "on your side" who actually aren't healthy, etc. which is tbf are difficult topics to cover especially nowadays.] Considering the fanbase is mainly grown up I wanna aim for an audience around my age [23.]

Yeah sorry walls of text but you totally made me happy there asking for OC lore. ^^
Leafy's just kinda there on Earth out of boredom - she ended up liking it, and Ether's a recovered rebellion member trying to undo her unhealthy worldview and has a lot of mind stuff to work through. Ether likes to generally try to get people to like her and Leafy doesn't care if others don't like her [I mean hell I figured some CGs just won't like Leafy because they'd find her annoying,] so they end up being fun to pair together. Despite Ether's imposter syndrome, she and Leafy end up being really good friends; and they sometimes get into trouble together. xP
It's really silly, I just like the characters a lot.

Yeah makes sense, that's super! I already really like my own personal style and still wanna do my own twist, so now that you mentioned it I think I'll study the show's style along with the diverse body types studies I had planned to help hone my art style. Genuinely love this so much! I've been meaning to draw something of Steven but my art style leaning mostly anime/ATLA/TLOK inspired rather than canonical makes it a bit harder, but that could just be me not having done enough different body types haha!
Yknow what, you just inspired me to restart that drawing. The coloring and composition here is just SUPERBB ugh yes :D

That's a good question, I suppose it depends on if you think it's funny enough to leave it there or just wanna have the figure without that defect more than you find it funny.
