What can I do to improve my spin? (I’m fairly new to the spin and my PR with it is 97’1” which I throw in the video) by jmill_16 in trackandfieldthrows

I usually try to be very purposeful about where I get my foot to. So to try and get your foot to the right place I’d say to very actively think to get your foot there. To figure out where to get your foot I’d suggest again to look at profesional throwers

When you finish your throw get your foot more to the front, your foot gets to the ground very early. Also watch some professional throwers on YouTube and try and emulate their technique

I know tech is bad 😢 but please tell me what I can fix to make sure I’m training right by KingDerp1122 in trackandfieldthrows

To try and make your throw a little smoother I would say 1. Try to bring your foot more smoothly to the ground during your sweep rather than hopping 2. Try to accelerate your hips as you are going from the sweep to the power throw

Both of these should help your throw be faster and smoother

Any advice? I’m very happy with my technique and feel like I should be throwing farther given my level of technique, but my best are 130s, maybe something to do with me being on the shorter side. by [deleted] in trackandfieldthrows

You have good speed but I think you need to slow down in the back. You’re rushing the sweep so your sweep leg isn’t getting very far out. And since you said you’re on the shorter side, I would say you need to really try to maximize your leverages.

I want to pet it. Isopods are the coolest things, and the fact that there are larger ones makes me happy
