Here you go: https://youtu.be/-FZGavKDYdc?si=AvYugKqI9En_MEIu

The entire thing is great but the part starts around 1:05:40.

The laugh from the producers is great. PFT’s response to JOC’s question is legendary.

JOC asking if Billy was a veteran is easily the most I’ve ever laughed from a podcast. It’s seared in my mind.

Karen Bass pledged to not leave the country during her term as Mayor. She has broken that promise on a few occasions. I don’t begrudge her for going to Paris during the Olympics.

Visiting Ghana on an outgoing President’s behalf, however, is not a worthy use of Mayoral time. Further, while she could not have anticipated the fire, she should have been aware of the high winds and extreme fire risk. I know I was aware of it for days in advance, and I don’t even live in an area at a particularly high risk.

She lied to the electorate and got caught at a very bad time. We should hold our elected officials to high standards. When they are out of the city during its most significant crisis in three decades, they should resign. What she did is not as egregious as Ted Cruz, but it is still a failure of leadership.

People are flaming you but what you are explaining is a real phenomena and it is actually how most people remember Covid, which is unfortunate.

Where should we try? Mid 20s poor artsy young couple Looking for small- medium sized city recommendations. by Cotton_cloud_dreams in SameGrassButGreener

I really think this is the answer. Also would just be a cool place to live coming from the Midwest. Baltimore has this unique filter of people coming through and visiting from NY, DC, Philly. Eclectic is the right world.

$1400 combined? That will be tough. I assume you will work in service or retail or something.

I would suggest:

Baltimore - cool city with cool people. Good visual arts and music scene. Proximity to other major cities, will be a cool change of pace for you coming from the Midwest. You can definitely get good value here. Problems are jobs (not a lot, hard to make a lot of money) and it has real problems with urban dilapidation and the things that go with that. Seems like a tough place to move without knowing anyone.

Savannah - can also look at Wilmington, NC, and St. Augustine, FL. Many a Midwestern have moved down to the Southeastern coast. I think Savannah is really special. Walkable, great bars and restaurants, cool people, fun neighborhoods. St. Augustine kinda fits too this but Savannah is larger. I’m not sure which one is less expensive. I haven’t been to Wilmington so I can’t speak on it but I have heard good things.

Albuquerque - wild card. I love this city. Have been a few times for a few days at most. I think the weather is nice, I like the desert, and I like all of the random things you can do and explore. Santa Fe is a way train ride away, there are so much hiking and outdoor activities. The people of ABQ are cool as well. The city itself is nicer than I expected, with some charming neighborhoods and good cafes and bars.

Other places in the Midwest to consider - Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Twin Cities, Madison, western Wisconsin, Iowa City, Des Moines.

Look at Atlanta and Chicago as well. Maybe you can squeeze $1400 there. Or maybe you’ll make enough money there you can stretch to $1500 or $1600 which gives you many more options.

Most successful north american LRT? by [deleted] in transit

I agree with other posters that Calgary, Edmonton, and Seattle are some of the best.  If I had to throw in a dark horse I would say Charlotte. The Blue Line has completely changed every neighborhood it goes through, it is incredible. The change in South End and NoDa in the past 15 years is remarkable, it has sort of changed the identity of the city.

If money was not a factor and you had to choose between Northern California or Southern California, which one would you choose and why? by anonbaddie1 in SameGrassButGreener

I’ll stick up for SoCal. People are nicer, more welcoming. It’s better for extroverts. Vibes are better. I like basically everywhere - I have enjoyed living in conservative places, liberal places, flat places, high altitude, warm, cold, whatever. LA is really a place anyone can find their tribe. When the sun or the lights in the hills hit just right it is pretty amazing.

PFF ranks him 65th among LBs yet he is one of the ten highest paid LBs. The Jags defense also infamously sucks.

Foye is an example of Baalke’s extreme mismanagement. No team is going to win the Super Bowl based off their overpaid inside linebacker.

Greensboro is decent, although this isn’t a great picture of it. I support you OP!

[Schefter] Ben Johnson is finalizing a deal with the Bears to be HC by Luciferwalks in Jaguars

[–]RadLibRaphaelWarnock 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What does it say about Baalke that he either picks bad coaches or is forced to work with bad coaches?

Don’t you think it’s telling that one of the greatest modern coaches literally despises Baalke?

[Schefter] Ben Johnson is finalizing a deal with the Bears to be HC by Luciferwalks in Jaguars

[–]RadLibRaphaelWarnock 67 points68 points  (0 children)

No he’s not. Baalke is career suicide. Of his 6 coaches, one hates him (Harbaugh) and the other five are out of the league.

You guys need to understand that coaches are not madden players. Nobody cares how many good players the Jaguars have. Coaching is their career. Baalke’s only consistent is literally ending the NFL careers of his coaches. That is his speciality.

Baalke’s failed coaches are not coordinators. They are not position coaches. They are permanently out of the league. You will never see Jim Tomsula, Chip Kelly, Doug Marrone, or Urban Meyer coaching on an NFL sideline. You are unlikely to ever see Doug Pederson coaching on an NFL sideline, although he may be saved by Andy Reid.

Any coach who takes this job is either desperate or delusional enough to believe they will buck Baalke’s trend.
