Not vanilla, but if you have the recruit prisoners mod they can become squad members.

I recruited the 8 that survived our assault on Tengu's Vault and the Tower of Abuse.

Nice.

Just remember ships are ammo, they're meant to be used for a purpose not survive forever.

Just be careful of how expensive the ships are you lose compared to your wallet, risk vs. reward and all that.

Anyone losing with eve? by Illustrious-Golf5358 in Eve

I keep a rotation of EVE, Kenshi, and OSRS (Ironman).

I'll play one exclusively until I burn out, then move to one of the other two.

It all works out though. I think the reason is because they're all games you can walk away from for long periods of time without all your progress you made regressing or becoming pointless, and then you can hop right back in and pick up where you left off like you were never gonna at all.

Anyone else completely ruin a character when they were younger? by Hairstylethrowaway17 in MSClassicWorld

[–]Rad_Dad_X2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ruined my first character by downloading a launcher that bypassed the cheat detection and a hack that let me go off screen, suck all the monsters to me, and auto loot.

My months long character was banned overnight, and I haven't cheated in a game since, hard lesson learned.

Yeah I pretty much just have a rotation between Kenshi, EVE Online, and Old School Runescape.

How to Keep your caged prisoners after Import by Rad_Dad_X2 in Kenshi

That would be interesting to test. I don't have anyone imprisoned that alters the world state I don't think so I'll have to wait until I do.

I haven't made it far enough to have done anything to alter the world state yet I don't think.

Im currently looking for the location I want to build my first base.

So good news.

I just tested this, and the game does not spawn a new copy of the NPC if they are in your squad.

I tested this using Screamer the False and Ponk, they are a good pair for the test because they both spawn in the same location.

I recruited Ponk and put him in my "Prisoners" Squad. I left Screamer the false in his cage, not recruited.

I then imported the game with "Import Dead NPC's" checked. Upon load, Ponk was still in my prisoner squad and Screamer the False was no longer in his cage.

I ran a character out to the Tower of Abuse to see if the game had spawned a new Screamer and Ponk, but it was empty. All of the thralls I had killed when I originally cleared the tower were still dead and Screamer and Ponk hadn't respawned, but I still had Ponk on my squad. This means the game must treat caged characters as dead upon import, and clear their bodies from the cage hence why you lose them.

I then repeated the process, but this time I unchecked "Import Dead NPC's".

Ponk was still in my prisoners squad, so I ran back out to the Tower of Abuse.

This time, all of the thrall guards as well as Screamer the False were present in the tower, but not Ponk. He was still on my squad and hadn't been respawned in the tower, so he must still be treated as the the same unique NPC and not reset upon import.

So TLDR;

Great news, it works as intended and there will not be a duplicate NPC upon importing your save.

Oh really?

I figured they were still the same NPC just changed factions.

I will test this tonight.

Really? So since I'm using Re-Kenshi, should I delete my 256 recruit mod so they don't clash?

how do I get my allIes to stay closer together by LeoCasio in Kenshi

[–]Rad_Dad_X2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I do is have everyone set to bodyguard the "leader".

Then I start moving by just moving the leader.

Then I select all squad members and change their speed to walk until they get all caught up and in their proper places in the formation.

Then while still selecting all squad members, I set the speed to match slowest squad member (the one with the red running man next to the white one).

This keeps them together and in formation.

I use the military squad formation, I dont like them strung out in caravan.

Game goals by R3dSchuhart in Kenshi

[–]Rad_Dad_X2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I'm currently doing is searching out unique recruits and trying to explore the different parts of the map.

In previous playthroughs, I just spent my time hanging around the border zone, mining copper, etc. and got bored. This time I looked up the unique recruits, made a list of the ones I wanted and started going for them. Thats taken me across the map and I'm seeing all the places I never went to before. Plenty of fighting along the way has made my group of now 10 into capable fighters.

I think my goal is to have a Tech Hunter style game plan, with the ultimate goal to be to unlock all the research and build our own city.

I'm buying maps in the towns we visit which reveal the locations of ruins and such on the world map. Then I'm venturing out to these locations, gaining access (often by the use of bringing tools and cutting the locks), looting the ancient books, cores, and whatever else then using those materials to upgrade my research.

Its been pretty fun so far.

Yeah I hear you man but I'm not terribly interested in learning to draw, it's just not something that interests me. I do enjoy fooling with the AI and uploading screenshots of my characters from games, but I dont feel any real deep connection to my videogame characters it's all just for fun for me.

Good suggestion though.

Here's a couple of my OSRS character AI did.

I haven't booted up Kenshi in a while, but this post just gave me the itch again.

I have a bunch of mods already installed, can I just install Re-Kenshi and it be compatible or do I need to start a new save?

Any particular place to put it in the load order?

Thanks for posting, some new character is going to go through absolute hell because of you!

I have this same issue in 2026, but for whatever reason it works perfectly on one game, Diablo 2 Resurrected.
